Looks like I need to watch Secret Saturdays at some point, too. XD It seems fun.

Episode 2 has me a bit excited and I hope they touch base on this again during this arc! I am loving the worldbuilding for the aliens, too. Omniverse is nailing it for me.

Thoughts on these episodes? Enjoy!

I love the idea with the 2 different upchucks making the 2 different art style between original and UAF cannon. Also its funny how they decide to live on but how many planet have their race gone through. Like not just this generation the whole Gormand race Also the Ink tank compared the Gormands to ants. There a queen and worker ants and solider ant and as you have seen they cant function without the queen

“Cryptid” is defined as “an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist”, or “a creature whose existence is disputed or unproven by science, but is often featured in folklore or legend”. Dinosaurs claimed to still exist without proof, such as the Mkele Mobembe are considered cryptids, so Zon and Komodo are indeed considered cryptids. Fiskerton specifically is the ‘Fiskerton Phantom’, a sort of cat-bigfoot from the UK. Zak, Fiskerton, Zon, and Komodo consider each other siblings as they were adopted into the family. The red spider dude is Munya, Argost’s right has and the secondary antagonist of the Secret Saturdays. He’s an altered half human-half spider monster. He’s not a Frankenstein, that’s just his spider form. He survived where Argost died and was likely the one staying in contact with Animo to resurrect Argost. Why does Argost need the mask? Because it’s iconic and the voice modulation is cool, enough said 😂. He speaks with a refined English Cockney accent, often throwing in French words and phrases to sound more sophisticated. He learned English from watching a found TV in his cave when he was still an average yeti. I like it because he seems far more sophisticated and refined than most people, but he’s not human at all. I really enjoy the world building Omniverse does, seeing different species and planets. The fact that Ben is able to become both kinds of Upchucks now is pretty neat, they’re kinda like frogs and toads if you think about it. The Incursions are about to have there time in the limelight 🐸

Ah, the Secret Saturdays. Back in the day, we all thought it was going to be the next big CN show. And so did CN, because the marketing campaign was huge. For months, CN flooded the airways with commercials and even an official website, all advertising "V.V. Argost's Weird World" as the next big CN live action show. (Keep in mind this was during a period where CN was experimenting with live action show, thankfully it didn't last long.) But just when we were all hyped as hell to see Weird World, one such commercial had the Saturdays hijack the broadcast, exposing Argost as a villain, and then the focus shifted, and the hype intensified. Oh, and it wasn't just the cartoon. There were comics, toys, a video game "The Secret Saturdays: The Beasts of the Fifth Sun". And the internet was flooded with fanart! Saturdays Mania was alive! But alas, it was all for not. The Secret Saturdays premiered the same year as Alien Force and was slaughtered in the ratings. 2/3rds of the way through season 1, the show lost its prime time Friday night timeslot next to Alien Force and was relocated to Saturday morning. After that, CN bought an additional 10 episodes as a token gesture to the fans to give the creative team to wrap up the story as best they could. The final 10 episodes were aired on Saturday nights with no prior announcement unless you followed the wiki. Then after the final episode aired, it simply ceased to be. I believe the 36 episodes are still in reruns on CN in some countries, but beyond that, it's little more than a memory. Such an inglorious end to what could have been a legendary series.

Zak Webb

on top of this although it aired alongside alien force it takes place roughly a year before alien force begins

Darkus-Arcadian-Dragon

Would you visit Upchuck’s Home Planet out of curiosity if you got the chance to lol 😂

Anriku

Probably not. What would I eat? 🤣

Anriku

Thats so unfortunate for the show and the fans. I definitely want to see what the hype was about. I remember seeing those live action shows while waiting for Adult Swim. What a time. 🤣

JD Dumas

I look forward to it. :) My one major issue with the crossover is that they couldn't get any of the original VAs to voice the SS characters. With the exception of Corey Burton reprising his role as Argost, but I think they were only able to arrange that because they already had him on the payroll as Malware. For Zak it makes sense, since he's 16 now instead of 11. But for Doc and Drew it's a little jarring. In the show Solomon 'Doc' Saturday, Zak's dad, was voiced by Phil Morris, who you may remember as Vandal Savage from Justice League. While Drew Saturday, Zak's mom, was voiced by Nicole Sullivan, best known for playing Shego on Kim Possible.

Anriku

Daaamn, she played Shego and the mom? Is she getting typecast as a femme fatal? Lmao

JD Dumas

With a voice that sexy, it's hard not to be.

Anriku

I'm probably checking out Ink Tank's videos someday.

Anriku

We have extensive evidence that dinosaurs existed, though. Or, are Zon and Komodo based on creatures that don't have evidence to back their existence?

KrakenKing

I mean that to say dinosaurs existing in the present. Look up the Mokele Mbembe, you’ll understand what I mean. Creatures that are listed as extinct, but have since had many unbacked sightings, such as the Tasmanian Tiger, would also be considered cryptids.

Prozaur

I know am late but in secret saturdays there are easter eggs about some ben 10 villains

Anriku

That's cool. I'll probably get to see it one day, so keep an eye out. ;)
