That Zuko and Katara episode was something else, man. Love the character writing in that one. Episode 17? It was enjoyable and funny, but... I NEED WAR!

Drop your thoughts and enjoy the reaction!

Katara and Hama the blood benders are the last waterbenders of the Southern tribe there are other water bender in the Northern Tribe

Anriku

Yep. I'm aware. I was just getting confused. Ty.

Im not sure if you noticed it, but back in the earlier seasons, Zuko would always make grunts and groans when firebending because he was firebending out of rage or anger. After Zuko switches up and learns the true way from the Masters, he stopped doing that.

While I don't particularly care for the Ember Island Players episode, I do think it was an ingenious way to give the audience a recap before the finale without resorting to a simple clip show episode. It really shows just how much the creators cared about the story they were trying to tell.

Nothing wrong with having characters that we hate to love & characters that we love to hate, makes the show interesting if you're feeling conflicted about liking them! XD

Enemies -> Lovers is a pretty solid cliche tbh, one I really do like when its used cause it makes for such a nice dynamic

The Ember Island Players is known as a great recap episode, I especially like how it’s still Fire Nation propaganda and shows what will happen if the group loses this time. I love how you can see Zuko’s improved fire bending since he learned the proper technique. Before when he fought Azula, he chased and groaned trying to take her down which made an easy fight for her. This time he was calm and patient so the fight was much more even.

Anriku

Exactly why I brought it up. Not an unheard trope in fiction.

There are theories that suggest that the water bender the southern raiders were looking for was Hama after she used blood bending to escape prison which would make Hama the last water bender that the leader was searching for because the fire nation would have no idea or source that a little girl like Katara could water bend.

Btw majority of people totally loved this episode (Ep 17)

Anriku

Crazy how my opinions differ from the masses sometimes. Not that I disliked it. Its a neat way to show a recap before the big destined showdown. If I was watching week to week, my feelings would probably be different. Still enjoyed it, though.

Anriku

That would make more sense but, correct me if I'm wrong, the timeline doesnt match up.

Anriku

Definitely like that they kept it as propaganda. So fitting.

Anriku

Exactly how I felt. I'm sure if I watched this weekly, I'd feel differently.

Anriku

Such a cool subtle detail.
