These were a fun pair of episodes that both involved Starfire a bit, though episode 7 was all about her. Episode 6 had me cracking up with the whole prom situation. LMAO!

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

Kitten: “Would it kill you to smile?” Robin: “Girl, did you forget who trained me?” 🤣

I've been eagerly awaiting this video, because I actually have a lot to say about both Killer Moth and Kitten. Although you've probably never heard of him, Killer Moth has been a member of Batman's Rogues Gallery since 1951 and still has fans to this day. His history is a little convoluted, but I'll give you the condensed version. Originally, Drury Walker was just a smalltime criminal who somehow managed to squirrel away a moderate sized fortune in stolen goods that the cops never found. After being released from prison for good behavior, Walker used this fortune to create a new identity, Cameron Van Kleer, which he used to scam the wealthy elites of Gotham out of personal loans and free meals. If that had been the extent of his crimes, Walker probably would've flown beneath Batman's radar, but Walker wanted more. Using the money he scammed, Walker reinvented himself as Killer Moth, the Anti-Batman, a 'hero' who would protect criminals from the police and the Caped Crusader, in exchange for a cut of their loot. However, during his first encounter with the Dynamic Duo, Killer Moth quickly realized he was in over his head and jumped into a nearby river to avoid getting beaten up. By the time he crawled out the sewers, Killer Moth was a laughingstock. In his second appearance, Killer Moth vowed to get revenge on Batman by humiliating him the way he'd been humiliated. His plan was childishly simple. He would dress up as Batman, pretend to be running scared from something in front of a bunch of people, double back and change back into his moth suit to make it look like Batman was running from Killer Moth. Naturally, this stupid plan didn't work. When a couple of random thugs saw him dressed as Batman they opened fire, forcing the real Batman to rescue him and take him to the hospital. Further cementing his reputation as a loser. Arguably his biggest contribution to the DC Mythos is accidentally creating Batgirl. One night, while on her way to a costume party, Barbara Gordon stumbled upon Killer Moth trying to kidnap Bruce Wayne to hold him for ransom. Being the Commissioner's daughter and obviously not knowing Bruce Wayne was in no real danger, Barbara stepped in to help. Keep in mind that at this point Barbara isn't a crime fighter yet. She's just an ordinary young woman, in a bat costume she made herself, with no gadgets and no training outside of basic self-defense. And yet she still beat the living daylights out of a grown man with body armor and a sci-fi gun. After that, Killer Moth only had a handful of appearances, usually as the butt of jokes. Until the 90s, when, during the 'Underworld Unleashed' crossover event, he was transformed into a real mothman by the demon Neron. In this form, Walker rebranded himself as Charaxes, the mutant super criminal. But even with enhanced strength and acid saliva, it didn't change the fact that inside he was still the same desperate wannabe he always was. So he got his butt kicked... a lot. He was a character considered too pathetic for the DCAU, but later shows embraced him for his failings and that's why he's still remembered. As said, despite being total loser, Killer Moth still has his fans. And I think that's because, in a universe of gods and monsters, there's something strangely endearing about guy who never stopped trying to matter, no matter how many times he failed.

As you've probably already guessed, Kitten was an original character made specifically for this episode. She doesn't have another significant role for the rest of the series and only appears in a handful of cameos. But despite this, she is a fan favorite character and still frequently appears in fan works to this day, usually in a comedic role. We're never told who her mother is but there are a number of theories. Some say her parents are divorced or she was adopted. Some even speculate that Kitten is actually a clone of Drury Walker created in his basement, but with the Chromosomes altered to make her female. That last one is based on a story from the comics that I didn't mention earlier because it's, quite frankly, gross. Anyway, while Kitten never made it into the official comics, she did appear in the tie in comic series, Teen Titans Go! (No connection to the cartoon of the same name) In that series, which continues after the events of the cartoon's finale, Kitten tried to establish herself as a legitimate supervillain, by ripping off the costumes and gimmicks of more successful ones. Over the course of a single issue, she was Pink X (an obvious knockoff of Red X), Mad Maud (Mad Mod), Joystick (Control Freak), Marionette (Puppet King) and Daughter Blood (Brother Blood, who you will meet in later seasons). In the end, Killer Moth confronted her and Kitten admitted that her main motivation was to try and make her father proud. KM reassures her that he's always been proud of her and the two reconcile as they're carted off to jail. Weirdly enough, this issue proves that, regardless of her origin, Kitten truly is the daughter of Killer Moth. The comic book KM tried to become a big shot by ripping off Batman, failed miserably, but is still remembered fondly by his fans. Kitten tried something similar, also failed miserably, but is likewise adored by her fans. Like Father, Like Daughter.

I remember the moth episode as a kid. Fang still freaks me out

I like how starfire says that blackfire turned purple for her thing and in the episode she appears in blackfire can use eye beams and starfire can't until after her transformation in this episode

Anriku

Thats a nice subtle detail!

Anriku

Fang is definitely freaky. Lol

Anriku

Interesting story for Kitten. Didn't realize Brother Blood would pop up. I remember he was in Arrow.

Anriku

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Anriku

How the heck did Barbara beat a grown man like that? 🤣 🤣

JD Dumas

Yeah... comic book Killer Moth is really not good at being a villain. But he tries.

As I'm sure you've already guessed, this version will be a lot different.
