Just to clarify, Stan is their Great Uncle. That means he's their grandfather's brother. We never meet him in the series, but his name is Sherman. That's not relevant to the plot, so I don't consider that a spoiler.

Perhaps, but according to Alex Hirsh Stan was never all that close to his younger brother. Evidentially, Sherman was born when Stan was 16-17. They're practically from different generations.
