What an incredible start to Season 5. That ending setup has me thinking this could easily become my favorite season. I can’t wait to see more.

Technically he saved them not getting crushed by the laser machine thing but didn’t stop the quantum generator as you saw negative man do that. I agree with tough love but that is going too far

I had a feeling you'd be into this. Also, I don't think the Titans ever told anyone about Trigon. Anyway, the Doom Patrol were a big deal in the 1960s. Cliff Steele: Former Indi 500 racecar driver who had his brain put into a robot body after a tragic accident. Larry Trainor: Former military test pilot who was doused with cosmic radiation while in orbit. He's technically dead, FYI. Rita Farr: Former Hollywood actress who gained strange powers after being exposed to volcanic gasses while filming in Africa. Steve Dayton: A millionaire playboy who invented a special helmet that enhanced his mental abilities. In the comics, Mento wasn't the leader. Instead, it was Niles Caulder aka the Chief, the brilliant scientist who brought these misfits together. However, he wasn't included in this episode. Anyway, you weren't far off. In the comics, Mento and Elasti-Girl were married and adopted Beast Boy after the death of his parents.

This version of the Brotherhood of Evil is pretty similar to the comic version. Except that in the comics there was a fifth member named Garguax: an alien warlord joined the Brotherhood after the Doom Patrol left him stranded on Earth.

That character sounds sick. Wonder why they didn't include him.

Fair point on them not telling anyone about Trigon. I figured they knew they lost time while petrified. Interesting how they change small details for the show... for better or worse.

I missed it was Negative Man who destroyed the machine the first time. Yeah man. Mento was being way too rigid.

I can't imagine it would've gone too well if they'd gone to the grownups for help. Not all superheroes follow the no-killing rule as strictly as others. If it meant saving the world, some might've been persuaded to try and kill Raven before she could open the portal.

I don't know for sure, but I presume because he wouldn't have fit in with the James Bond / Incredibles vibe the writers were going for. Either that or they didn't want to have to keep track of too many new characters.
