Alright, it’s time 👀

We’re diving into Toei’s brand new tokusatsu series Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity, stepping in as the successor to Super Sentai… and I’ve gotta say, I was vibing with this premiere way more than I expected.

The tone, the suit, the energy... it hooked me right away.

Now the real question is: can they keep that momentum going?

We’re officially checking this out weekly, so we’ll see if it keeps me locked in or if the hype fades. Either way, I’m excited to see where this goes.

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

Maskedman

it will be interesting getting used to this and not Super Sentai, also the two ideas for when to watch Gozyuger I will say they are the same plan the only (possible) difference is when

It is kinda odd in an interesting way, seeing a henshin'd Toku hero bear up regular human looking dudes. We saw a little bit of that in Gavv I guess with the disguised Granutes, Shouma, and Lakia

Banger first episode. This actually feels like it's going to be a strong "Kamen Rider" season. It feels like Kamen Rider with a duo space-emotion motiff

Only downside in a bitter-sweet way, is I don't think this will fill in Sentai's void, large ensemble cast and giant Kaiju fights (I hope we get the Kaiju fights based off the mecha we saw open this show). But it's double the pleasure double the fun with two Rider series if that's the case. Maybe the other Gavans can fill in the "squad" part (blue rangers are usually edgy secondary Rider coded). Or the Gavans can be secondary and tertiary riders?

I honestly don't know what I think of the show yet. I didn't dislike the premiere but neither was I blown away by it. The thing I've learned after watching Toku shows and action movies is I don't enjoy the fight scenes nearly as much unless I'm emotionally invested in the characters. This one was mainly action with not a lot revealed about our main characters. It will probably take a few more episodes before I decide if I like it. Still I'm hopeful that this will bring something different to the table than Sentai and Rider.
