This was another fun episode, but let’s be real… this show hasn’t missed yet. Every episode brings something different to the table.

Booster Gold is definitely entertaining. The ego, the showmanship, the “future’s greatest hero” energy 😅 — he’s fun, but he’s not quite cracking my favorites list just yet. That said, I can see the potential. If they give him a strong character moment or peel back a few layers, he might end up growing on me.

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

There’s a zipper on Bane’s mask because it’s a luchador mask, he’s a luchador. This is pretty much beat for beat Booster Gold’s (Michael Carter’s) origin story. He was a museum security guard from the 25th century who decided he wanted to be more, so he stole Skeets and a suit from a superhero exhibit and used a time machine to travel to the past and use his knowledge of the future to fight crime, typically for glory. He comes around though, slowly but surely. He usually becomes best friends with Ted Kord, but alas, Ted is gone. Skeet’s is also voiced by Billy West, aka Fry from Futurama. Kru’ll is an original character made for the show, but he seems to be a combination of two preexisting characters: King Kull, a barbarian Atlantean king from DC’s Conan comics (Kru’ll’s brutish appearance), and Vandal Savage, who is also an immortal caveman given strength and immortality from a mysterious meteorite, going on to conquer throughout history and altering time (Kru’ll’s identity), although Savage gains a very refined, evolved look and is a master strategist and planner. Vandal Savage then, being Kru’ll’s comics counterpart, is the archenemy of Hawkman + Hawkgirl and a big enemy of the Justice League, and one of my favorite DC villains. Justice League animated had a phenomenal three parter involving him.

I've never seen a luchador mask with a zipper over its mouth. XD. I forgot Bane is Latino. Ah. Vandal Savage. I've heard the name before.

Actually. King Kull is originally from the old SHAZAM comics. But everything else he had is correct.

There's something weirdly endearing about Booster Gold, at least to me. True, he's selfish, narcissistic and immature, and no version of him I know ever moves past that, at least not fully, but when it really matters he always does the right thing. I guess I just have a soft spot for flawed characters. Also, fun fact: Diedrich Bader, the voices Batman here, also voices Booster Gold in a later series, Justice League Action.

Thats neat. Good to hear he continues to get work. He has a distinct voice.
