Bat-Mite is HERE… and as expected, he cranks the chaos up to 11 😂

The meta jokes, the fourth-wall breaks, the pure unfiltered zaniness... this is exactly the kind of episode that reminds you what makes Batman: The Brave and the Bold so unique. It embraces the absurd and just runs with it.

Absolutely wild ride from start to finish.

Honestly, I didn't like this episode. Bat-Mite is just not my character.

Catman (Thomas Blake) was a wealthy big cat hunter who turned to crime after losing his wealth. He themed himself as Catman to rival Batman and gradually rose from a d-lister to a more relevant, complex character who has been part of the Secret Six and even been an anti-hero at time. He’s a peak athlete and combatant who also has a sort of sixth sense with big cats. Ace the Bat-Hound is a real character and is indeed Batman’s Krypto! He first appeared in Batman #92 (1955) and since then there have been multiple dogs who have taken up the name. He’s an extremely loyal companion who Bruce typically rescued off the street and in turn became a sidekick. In the DCAU continuity, Ace appears in Batman Beyond as a companion to an elderly Bruce. Bat-Mite (and Larry, for that matter) are both magical imps from the fifth dimension, just like Superman’s enemy, Mr. Mxyzptlk (another one of my favorites). As you’ve seen, they all posses near limitless reality warping capabilities in the third dimension and all work of their own accord (Bat-Mite is a Batman super fan, Mr. Mxyzptlk has a bone to pick with Superman, etc). They all also tend to have their own weaknesses, with Superman needing to get Mr. Mxyzptlk to say his own name backwards. Suits/versions shown (check them out if you want): Vampire Bruce Wayne (Batman and Robin: Red Rain), Bat Hombre (Batman #56), Adam West Bruce Wayne (Batman 1966), George Clooney Bruce Wayne (Batman and Robin), Bat-Zebra-Man (Detective Comics #275), and brick shithouse Batman (The Dark Knight Returns). Shaggy Man is a bigfoot-like monster created by the evil Professor Ivo, who also created the Amazo android, which can mimic any superpower. Calendar Man (Julian Gregory Day) is a long time Batman c-list enemy who we see here in his original silly form, committing crimes on holidays. The comic ‘Batman: The Long Halloween’ completely reinvented the character of Calendar Man into a cold, calculating serial killer who plots murders and crimes across holidays, with said killings often being themed to said holidays. This is typically how he’s since been depicted. All the weird monsters Batman fights on the alien planet are real, the rainbow monster being the most well known. The lighting shot of Bat-Mite as Batman on the roof is a homage to the intro of Batman: The Animated Series (1992). Mr. Zero is who Mr. Freeze was known and looked as before being near-completely reinvented as a character. The guy with the top hat is the Mad Hatter, his original silver age depiction. The snake guy at the end is Copperhead.

Totally fair. I can see how he can be annoying or not someone's cup of tea. I could take him or leave him but he's fun atleast.

Thats it. The 1994 series. I knew it was one of them. That's the one from my childhood. Ah, so it is Mr. Freeze. I had a feeling it was him. Similar vibe.

Ace the Bat-Hound. A much-beloved piece of Batman Lore. Some people say giving Batman a dog is too goofy, but real Bat-Fans' hearts swell with joy whenever he appears in DC related media. Yes, Mr. Zero is essentially the prototype Mr. Freeze. Actually, it was the Adam West Show that first called him Mr. Freeze. And he wasn't given the civilian name Victor Fries or his iconic tragic backstory under Btas. Calendar Man, real name Julian Gregory Day, was originally just a D-Lister on the same level as Cat-Man and Killer Moth. However, the graphic novel Batman: The Long Halloween reimagined him as a super-genius Hannibal Lector kind of villain, and now that's the version most people prefer. Zebra-Man, real name Jacob Baker. Short version, he's kind of like Doctor Polaris, only he can attract and repel anything that isn't made of metal. Those two villains you were wondering about. The one in the top hat is the Mad Hatter and the snake guy is Copperhead.

The entire sequence at the end is an homage to the classic Daffy Duck cartoon "The Great Piggy Bank Robbery". In which, Daffy imagines himself as the comic book character Dick Tracy and his imagination runs away with him. Much like what happened to Bat-Mite.

Shaggy Man was created by Professor Andrew Zagarian, not Dr. Ivo.
