Good episode for sure. 👀 I’m really curious if we’ll be seeing Buddy again down the line... especially if it somehow ties back into Equinox. It definitely feels like they’re planting seeds for something bigger with Equinox, too. I’m hyped to see how this overarching plot unfolds!

I don't know if you knew this from the last time you saw him but Equinox was never a character in the comics, he was created for this show

Hawk and Dove (Hank and Don Hall are indeed brothers and at the time of their creation (1968) were inspired by political divides of the time, pro-war hawks and pacifist doves. The two have opposing views and ideologies, Hawk employing force and aggression while Dove employs reason and nonviolence, offense vs defense, a hot-headed reactionary conservative vs a thoughtful reasoned liberal. The two got their powers from the Lords of Order and Chaos, who offered them aid when they were trying to prevent the assassination of their father, a judge with many enemies. The Global Peace Agency was founded by aliens known as the Visionaries who wished to prevent humanity from destroying itself. Their agents all wear special blank masks in order to conceal their identities. The GPA was originally a future organization, but as of 2009 was retconned into the present. This version of Kafka is original to the show and was the writers way of introducing the villain Shrapnel, who is usually known as Mark Scheffer and is typically an enemy of the Outsiders and the Doom Patrol. OMAC has changed name a faced a lot throughout DC history, for most of said history simply becoming the name of the android(s) produced by the satellite known as Brother Eye, in these cases typically being written to go rogue (Brother Eye itself has changed ownership from the GPA numerous times, including Batman in the Injustice continuity). Buddy Blank’s OMAC (same VA as Spectacular Spidey’s Shocker btw), however, is the original OMAC character from the silver age and is in fact the only one that’s human. This episode did a pretty thorough job of explaining Buddy and his origin. As I commented on the last episode, Buddy is actually Kamandi’s grandfather! He raised Kamandi in a bunker as the world went to ruin until Kamandi finally decided to go out on his own, and the two shared their original comic run at one point. The fact that the two got back to back episodes was very cool.

I never knew that. I don't know if that's canon here, but I'd like to believe it is. Kamandi definitely inherited Buddy's heart. :)

Equinox is such a cool villain. I wish he got grandfathered into the comics, like a certain other Brave and the Bold original character who you will meet in the relatively near future. ;)

I sense a song coming on ;)
