It’s time for the 2-episode arc Siege of Starro, and it did NOT disappoint. That ending though… completely caught me off guard. I did NOT expect it to go down like that.

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

Such a great two-parter, love seeing so many characters on the screen at one time. That freeze frame of Starro tangling with the five heroes in part one is actually a recreation/reference to the cover of The Brave and the Bold #28 (1960), on which Starro fights the Justice League in his debut appearance. Some of the Faceless Hunter’s trophies (these are really Easter eggs of sorts): - Thanagarian Hawkman (his alternate/newer origin) - Silver Age Brainiac - A Parademon, from Apokolips - Gleek, from the Super Friends cartoon - A partially built Emerald Eye of Ekron RIP B’Wana Beast, absolute legend.

JD Dumas

The caveman who fights Krull in the opening in Anthro. He's the first Homosapien ever born and also the first hero. The woman with Jonah Hex is Cinnamon, a wild west gunslinger and the previous incarnation of Hawkgirl. The guy who looked like Metamorpho but different is Ultra the Multi-Alien. His origin is a little convoluted, but the short version is that his name is Ace Arn. He's an astronaut who got stranded in a distant solar system. And he has the combined powers of the four dominant races in that system. Namely, super strength, magnetism, lighting powers and flight. The flying camel Bwana Beast rides is a reverence to Kaboobie, the flying camel from the short lived Hanna-Barbera series Shazzan.

I knew that looked familiar, I should have known. Shazzan was a fun series.

JD Dumas

Fun but criminally underrated.

The Faceless Hunter had a Parademon (creature in yellow and green) in his trophy room. It’s a creature from Apokolips. Losing B’Wana Beast was rough and unexpected. Despite everyone thinking he was a joke, he was content being with Vixen and being a hero. RIP to a true hero.

B'Wana went out a hero and I love it. RIP to a cool character!
