That was G.I. Robot 1 (notice the helmet notation). The one in Gunn’s Creature Commandos in G.I. Robot 2, though they serve the same function (1 is simply a bit more “serious”). There is also reportedly a Sgt. Rock movie in the works. Sgt. Rock lead Easy Company, while G.I. Robot was typically a Creature Commandos member, but there is some intersection. There’s actually a DC character showcase short (one of a handful) featuring Sgt. Rock and the original Creature Commandos. I think it’d be a really cool bonus reaction if you were to watch it, plus they’re some of my personal favorite lesser known characters.

Roman Sionis aka Black Mask, made his first appearance in the comics in 1985 and was an instant hit with the long time Batman fans. He was the son of shallow, self-centered societies who valued appearances above all else. As such, they forced Roman to simply repress his violent and sociopathic tendencies rather than seeking psychiatric help to avoid 'embarrassment'. When they died, Roman demonstrated his contempt for their phoniness by vandalizing their graves and carving his father's ebony coffin into a skull mask, which he viewed as a representation of his inner self. As Black Mask, he runs a criminal organization called the False Face Society, where everyone wears a mask that represents who they are inside. Proto is basically a metaphor for the overall message of the show. Most people write Silver Age comics off as goofy, clunky and dated, like Proto himself. But when handled with care and used correctly, those kinds of stories still have a place in the present day. Having Adam West be his VA is just icing on the cake.

Maybe one day I'll watch those, but we all know how the Inktank videos went... they didn't. :( I will get to those some day, though!

Ah, I see. I didn't realize there were different versions, but makes sense considering he is a robot. I'll be checking out those showcases as you know. ;)
