It's time for the penultimate and finale for Batman: The Brave and the Bold! Episode 12 was unexpected. I vibed with 3 of the stories. ;) Episode 13 was awesome, though. So meta and such a great send off for this series!

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride! Once again, thanks for coming along with me on this journey!

The original Creature Commandos were born out of the US government’s Project M, an experimental program aimed at creating monster super soldiers during WW2. - Lt. Matthew Shrieve is a normal human Army intelligence officer who was hand picked to lead the team. He is an expert marksman and hand-to-hand combatant. - Pvt. Warren Griffith suffered from clinical lycanthropy, believing himself to be a werewolf during full moons. Project M decidedly made him into an actual werewolf with transformations not conforming to the moon rule. - Sgt. Vincent Velcro was a member of the RAF before being accused of treason. Rather than the death penalty, he opted for Project M, where he was injected with a compound containing vampire bat DNA, turning Velcro into the “scientific approximation of a vampire” (akin to Marvel’s Morbius). - Pvt. Elliot “Lucky” Taylor was nearly killed when he stepped on a landmine. Via Project M, Taylor’s body was repaired in a form akin to Frankenstein’s Monster, though his vocal cords were unable to be saved, making him a mute. He typically uses the codename “Patchwork”. - Dr. Myrra Rhodes was a plastic surgeon working on Project M who accidentally breathed in chemical fumes during a lab accident, making her hair grow into snakes and superficially making her resemble a Gorgon. The Ultra-Humanite is actually a Superman enemy and the first ever Superman villain at that, debuting in ‘Action Comics #13’ (1939), acting as Superman’s main nemesis until Lex Luthor was created. He was originally an Axis scientist, though with time his affiliations have changed. His true name, only revealed recently, is Gerard Shugel, though he came to only ever be known as the Ultra-Humanite due to his overly advanced intellect. He was born with a degenerative disease that left him wheelchair bound, but Shugel found a way to be able to transplant his brain into whichever host he sees fit (here it was an albino t-rex). He typically transplants his brain into the body of an albino gorilla, which is what you will see in future media. I have no words regarding the finale other than it was absolutely perfect for a show like this and the meta ending was extremely bittersweet and heartfelt. I’m going to miss this show. Ted McGinely is a famous TV actor who was on shows such as ‘Married… with Children’. The joke here is that McGinely has almost always joined a TV series towards the end of its run, making him a sort of superstitious network television grim reaper lol. Ambush Bug is a pretty deep cut character, but he’s fun and he essentially has Deadpool 4th wall breaking powers to the extreme.

Wild origins as usual. 🤣 I only know Teb McGinley from Married with Children. That's funny that he got that nickname. I feel the same way about John Stamos. 🤣 Dude was joining shows I one point just for it to die. A unique and fitting way to end this series for sure.

KrankenKing covered most of the important stuff, but I'll add my two cents anyway. Brave and the Bold managed to pull off one last absolutely perfect guest star casting in the final episode. The guy voicing Ambush Bug is none other than Henry Winkler, better known as Fonzie from Happy Days. The whole 'Jump the Shark' thing is based on an episode of Happy Days in which Fonzie jumps over a shark on waterskies. So having him be Bat-Mite's nemesis in this was pure genius. As for Beware the Batman, it was a good show. Some parts could've been better, but overall, I liked what they were trying to achieve. Giving the spotlight to lesser-known villains like Prof. Pyg, Magpie, Humpty Dumpty and Tobias Whale. Focusing more on Alfred's life before he became the Waynes' butler. Having Barbara Gordon be Oracle from the start without crippling her. Too bad Cartoon Network completely mishandled it. I have no proof of this, but I'm convinced that CN purposefully sabotaged it because they wanted to put all their focus on Teen Titans Go. They gave it a lousy timeslot, after a few weeks I stopped seeing commercials for it, and after episode 12, it became an online exclusive. I mean come on, Green Lantern the Animated Series got to finish it's run on TV. And the worst part is, I've read some of the team's ideas for Season 2, and it sounded pretty cool.

Anriku

That would be so unfortunate if they did it purposely. :( The Fonz! Didn't know it was him until someone else mentioned it in discord. Pretty dang cool.

Like I said, I have no proof. But I wouldn't put it past CN to pull something like that. It's ironic really, corporate meddling destroyed what could have been a great, or at least decent Batman show, and yet it was corporate meddling that helped shape Batman the Animated series into the legend that it is today. Which I will elaborate on further once you start reacting to it. Yeah, I didn't recognize him either the first time I saw the finale. He sounds a lot different now that he's older. But apparently he's still working as an actor. He's like 80 now and the History channel has him hosting their documentaries. Evidentially he refuses to retire because he's afraid that without work his brain will go soft. Respectable, I guess.

Dude's still killing it, and honestly, I get what he is saying. Gotta stay active to stay alive.
