Man, that Clock King episode was phenomenal! I honestly didn't expect to love his character this much in this series. And let’s be real, more Joker is always a good time, even when he’s being completely unhinged with the Mayor's kid. 😂

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

A lot of villains are born simply through one bad day

What I like about this clock king design is he's kinda just a regular dude with subtle clock motiffs.

‘The Clock King’ is just a peak episode. I’ve already given my thoughts on it elsewhere so I’ll just leave it at that. ‘Be a Clown’, while far from the best Joker episode, is quite enjoyable. Mayor Hill being a bonehead aside, I find the carnival environment with Joker prowling around to be extremely creepy. This also continues the theme of Batman having a special place in his heart for children and wanting to help them, as we previously saw in ‘The Underdwellers’, a theme that we will continue to see with him all throughout the DCAU.

It's worth noting that while he shares a villain name with a character from the comics, Temple Fugate is an original character made for this series. The Brave and the Bold version is based on the original comic book version, William Tockman. Fugate is a radical reimagining and an upgrade. The Clock King is honestly one of my favorite Btas episodes of all time, pun not intended. But honestly, I feel really bad for Hill in that episode. He did nothing to deserve all the crap he had to put up with. Yes, he gave Fugate some bad but well-meaning advice, but it's not like he put a gun to his head. Fugate chose to break his routine on his own. And everything that happened at the park was just random bad luck. But he simply can't or won't accept that there are some things beyond human control. And we see that earlier when he went off on that guy in his office for not copying fast enough. There are things called 'paper jams' you dick. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 20-million-dollar lawsuit was from a former employee who sued for wrongful termination. Still, he is a great villain, and I wish they used him more. Don't worry, he appears in other episodes, just not a lot.

Interestingly enough, I heard the original drafter of "Be a Clown" was actually much darker, but they had to tone it down for television.

I can easily see how this episode could have been darker. The subtext, unnerving imagery, and frankly unsettling title card all seem to have been hinting at more imo.

It’s telling that this is the style of Clock King was has been used most commonly in DC media ever since.

It definitely grew on me as I continued to watch it. I definitely like him overall more than TBATB version.

Yep. All it takes is one bad day for that impulse control to shatter to bits.

Easily one of my favorites of BTAS. Definitely had darker vibes to it than shown. Imagine what it would have been like if it wasn't changed.

They nailed it with this Clock King for sure. I'm not surprised they kept using him. Easily one of my favorite villains from BTAS so far.
