The debut of Mr. Freeze in BTAS, and easily one of the best episodes yet. It’s right up there with "Two-Face: Part 1" for me... both are locked into my Top 10 right now! Also, you gotta love that a cryogenic supervillain was ultimately taken down by a thermos of chicken noodle soup. XD

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

Easily a top three episode of the whole series imo. The BTAS crew took an obscure and silly ice villain from the comics and completely reinvented him from the ground up into one of Batman’s most complex and cool (no pun intended) villains ever. This new take on the character was so perfect that it remained the definitive concept of Mr. Freeze forever. Very easy to see why this episode won an Emmy. We would not have this character today had this episode never been written. Props to VA Michael Ansara for delivering such captivating lines in such an ironically robotic and deadpan voice. While Freeze clearly still has SOME emotions, mostly those of anger and loss, his voice screams otherwise, as well as his lack of care and empathy for others. Both fortunately for the reputation of the character, yet unfortunately for us as viewers, Mr. Freeze is extremely sparingly used. Victor is not one to break out of prison and continue committing crimes, and so sadly we will not be seeing him for nearly three more years in-universe, but he’ll be back eventually.

I love BTAS, but I think a show that deserves more attention is The Batman (2004). I hope you watch that one next.

Mr. Freeze's character arc in the DCAU is one of the best, and most tragic, I've ever seen in any media. As KrakenKing already said, Freeze is different from the rest of the Gotham Rogues. He never tries to escape or take revenge on Batman after this. Although it's not how he envisioned it, Batman gave Victor his revenge on Boyle. He understands that and for now he is, for lack of a better word, content to spend the rest of his days in frozen solitude. Until circumstances force him to do otherwise, but that's a story for another day.

I love that show. Though I don't care for how it downgraded Mr. Freeze to a common thug.

Considering that we pretty much never got that take again after BTAS, I don’t mind ‘The Batman’ keeping their Mr Freeze to his roots.

Couldn't have said it better. A shame we don't get to see Freeze that often, though. Such a great debut episode for him.

It's on the list. It all depends on the community.

I look forward to seeing those... 'circumstances'. ;)
