The time has arrived for Movie War 2010 and Begins Night! Getting the full backstory on that fateful night was incredible, but now I’m officially hooked... we need more Kamen Rider Skull in our lives! XD

I always find it funny that Philip is always the hard-boiled (heartless) of the two detectives each case. But I get that Shotaro's whole gimmick is he is half-boiled, too caring

Kamen Rider Skull is one of my favorite Kamen Rider designs and characters of all time. Especially with the Michael Jackson fedora. And yes, he's a Skullman reference (or you would know Skullomania)

The Fang memory reminds me of the Dragon driver that protects Banjo in Build

What they show with the drivers is that they each can use a single power. The lost driver is the original and can only use one driver at a time (meaning just Joker, just skull, just cyclone). The double driver is the successor and allows them to use advanced combinations combined with them having two people in one body (which they explained in the gambling episode where Philip took control of Shotaro's right hand to help him win old maid)

Decade is actually one of my favorite KR series. It has its flaws, but the characters are great and it has a fun "Quantum Leap" gimmick where Tsukasa (Decade) is traveling to alternative non-canon (and some canon) KR universes to solve their problems. In shinkenger you noticed he Quantum Leapt into one of the random flag dudes that introduce the samurai. One flaw with Decade is that the series never truly finished (but actually "it's technically is still going"). Kuuga fans tend to hate Decade because they turned Kuuga into Decade's sidekick, but in a lame Tim Drake Robin way.

Sweet move by Tsukasa too. Pulling a random Kamen Rider skull just to say hi to Akiko and Shotaro: "I don't know who you are, but you must be cool because of your cool hat" 😎 😭

Kamen Rider Skull is W's thirdary rider The one rider that saved the old man near the end (the one you hardly saw) is Kamen Rider Kiva-la (Decade's fourthary rider) I saw you liked the spoiler I was talking about (we saw a Masquerade dopant in the first episode of the Mr. Question pair)

ah the good ol' movie war third act nonsense lol. back when they regularly did these three-part crossover movies, the third part where they meet up was always nonsense that just looked cool but doesent always make sense or ever show up again

I don't know if anyone told you, but you could have just watched the Fuuto PI movie, "The Portrait of Skull".

Oh yeah. I knew that but the taking over the body caught me off guard. I don't recall Phillip doing that before or at least not fully take over. I remember him changing the memory before and the old maid trick but Shotaro was still awake. My thought process after seeing the Lost Driver was mainly 'where does all this originate from? Did someone create all of it and Sonozaki found it? Did they create all of it?' My bad if it seemed like I was confused on how the driver itself works.

Ooooh. So thats why it felt kind of nuts. 🤣 Now the Accel guy has me excited and curious though.

You probably also should have watched the anime version of it. It's a longer movie and covers the entire Begins Night episode. It's also a lot cleaner (unfortunately, this version of Begins Night is kinda obsolete with the superior and more detailed anime version out. That version even has the Kamen Rider Accel and Fang Joket teaser in it. The decade and random filler dummy case take away). The anime also gives more into Shotaro's childhood.

Thank God they stopped that somewhat. Heisei Generations did the crossover movies much better (especially since they were standalone movies that don't need context)

It's pretty much the same with a bit more. It shows how Shotaro became Narumi's junior detective as well. And you don't even need to have watched Fuuto PI beforehand since most of the movie is the flashback. But I guess you'll just have to wait until you watch the anime.

The plan is to watch Fuuto Pi at some point, so we'll watch it with that. I figured sticking with Live Action made more sense since the main show is the same.
