I never say kageyama as redeaming, but like ok dude you love soccer a lil bit, all your life is about soccer chill a bit haha. But he is estil a bad guy Also all the nakata stuff, he is based on a real player same name, is like an easter egg, it honestly is a shame it results to nothing

I love how passionate u get with ur reactions it really shows how into the shows u are which is one of the many things that make ur channel so great. I personally dont mind the route they took with Kageyama this season, but i see where ur coming from aswell. I just like to see the good in everyone so im always up for a redemption story lol even though i dont really even see it as redemption but more so just getting to see the true Kageyama before he has to pay for everyting hes done. I feel like Hibiki and Kidou were also just happy to see Kageyama have fun and truly have his love for soccer back since they spent so much time along side him in the past and knew he wasnt truly evil. As for the Rushe situation idk if u caught that Kageyama didnt cause her eyesight loss, but he did pay for the hospital bills and surgery to regain it. Maybe u will change ur opinion on his story this season a little after the show is over, but its completely fair if u dont. Everyone looks at things differently at the end of the day. I cant wait for the next reaction already.

I respect your opinion even though I disagree I think the thing with Kageyama is basically this: Before the whole thing with his father being dropped from the national team Kageyama clearly loved soccer and his father but when his father was dropped from the national team not only Kageyama never got to see his father's soccer again but also remember that his father literally disappeared and his mother died soon after(mentioned in episode 22) so he was left all alone. This caused him immense trauma so revenge was essentially his coping trauma mechanism evidenced by his philosophy ''Winning is everything, losers don't have qualification to exist'''. Essentially his trauma response shifted his love to soccer into hate. As for why he suddenly realized it? Well seeing Fidio do all the plays his father used to do which Kageyma admired a lot caused him to remember how he felt before his father was dropped from the team the admiration he held for him so I think it actually makes total sense that this is the reason to make him realize that since he himself said ''Because I knew I would never see that light again I rejected it and got consumed by the darkness'' or something like that.

Btw another thing is I don't think redemption necessarily mean forgivness either as I think everyone in that stadium still wants to see Kageyama face the consequences of all his action and go to jail but I think this redemption is more for Kageyama himself he finally realized all the messed up shit he did and is ready to fully face the consequences for that.

I could have sworn Hide said she got hurt due to one of his schemes. I just watched that scene and she did get hurt. They didn't say she lost her eye sight but they didn't really clarify.

Hide did say she got hurt and thats why he started visiting her. After that he says Kageyama learned about her eye illness through his visits and i feel like that implies that that wasnt caused by Kageyama.

Thats fair. I understand what they're trying to do. What it boils down to for me is the character doesn't deserve it. It also feels like, "Hey. Cool. He's got his soccer back and we want him to pay for his crimes too"... thats great if it wasn't for the fact that he tried to killed these kids, disoriented families and more. I get its about everyone deserving to play their soccer but I don't think its a good message considering how heinous this dude has been. I respect all of your guys opinions too

Yeah I get where are you coming from, I think for me it works not because it made me feel bad for Kageyama but more so that it made him even more of a complex villain. We get to really learn and see exactly what made him the way he is and sure he doesn't really deserve redemption I do agree with that. I guess what I am trying to say is I personally don't view this as the show saying that it's ok he did all those things because he now ''found the light'' but more so him finally fully coming to terms with his own feelings and not only returning to his soccer but also being ready to accept the consequences of everything evil he has done.

I must say i felt pretty heartbroken to see how you felt about Kageyama's story haha, but i definitely see where you're coming from. I never really deeped it but Kageyama has done some fucked up shit that he can't be forgiven for. I did like how Fideo used Kageyama Tougo's plays and how Kageyama Reiji responded to that, eventually leading to him realizing that he does in fact love the very thing he swore he hated for so long. I get that you don't care about that given everything he's done, he definitely needs to pay for his crimes. I'm glad that he's at least freed from the darkness he carried and the hatred he had for football. Personally i also never felt he was being "manipulated" or "pressured" by this greater evil. The things he's done were always motivated by his hatred towards football. Don't know if that's what the writers actually wanted us to believe, but i never felt that way... That would be pretty stupid. Idk it's been a while since i've seen the show.

I didn't like the kageyama plotpoint either but i hope it doesn't discourage you from continuing inazuma eleven, it still has a lot to offer! And as for the crazy plotlines and the craziness overall in the series you should get used to it, because this is as grounded as the series will get lmao.
