I don’t know if it’s just because it’s new and we spent 50 weeks with Zeztz, but this was an EXTREMELY strong start, IMO.

I’m really digging the whole Zodiac sign concept, and I can’t wait to see where they take it... especially once we start seeing all of their designs.

I'm half-chinese. As a kid my mom taught me why there is a mouse in the Zodiac instead of a cat, who got excluded. Apparently there was some sort of meeting of the animals to claim the thrones of the Zodiac. The cat and Mouse were in a foot race for the last seat and the cat was supposed to win. What had happened was the rat sabotaged the cat which is why the rat ended up taking the throne. This is what led to the eternal battle between cat and Mouse. I believe my mom actually told me this to give me cultural backstory to me watching Tom and Jerry.

The official translation on youtube does translate the text that shows up as the different group members appear. But it's just their name and their animal. Also, the official translation of Fukushigi is "Inexplicable." My speculation is that the young girl is the descendant of the original My-th and that she game the belt to the MC. That's why she seems to have some control of it and ability to sense things. The thing he gave her was homework. Again, the official translations translated it. Also while I missed it too, the dude that got kidnapped with the MC was shown earlier as one of the zodiak people. He's the one who volunteers to find out what is going on with the monsters disappearing.

since there are 12 zodiacs, I suspect at least 12 riders, and you know a good majority of the rider names (I am helping you out, 3rd and down are from 10:02) My-Th (mouse) Maou (red cat/I think secondary rider) Datt (rabbit) Tigre (tiger) Vanken (dog) Kei (rooster) (dragon) name is Ryuz but rider name is unknown right now (monkey) name is Ende but rider name is unknown right now Jyao (snake) Mutn (sheep) (unknown right now are Boar, Ox, and Horse) I find it interesting and a little weird that the girl decides when My-Th transforms and untransforms. At 19:33 it is a book on how to write essays. The one guy that is undercover (I know this is a spoiler, but I want to say it, so I am sorry in advance) he is a black cat called Kamen Rider Rid. Finally, the next episode is said to be based on a famous story.

Nice to see someone else thinking this was a pretty solid premiere, I've seen other reactors and heard of some complaints about too much of CG (which wasn't really a big deal for me)

At 1:59 it says "Metamorphosis," not "Henshin." Because the word "Henshin" only started being used around 1932, from what I heard.

My theory is that the girl is the descendant of the orignial My-th and is the person who actually has the power. She is merely lending it to the MC to use on her behalf. An idea I actually like because I can't think of another main rider like that. It also makes the main supporting girl much more important than normal.

These translations are actually pretty good except for not translating text. Which is a bit odd, as even most fan translations do so, at least when plot relevant or introducing characters.

I think I'll check out the YT copy for E2 and then take it from there. Who knows, maybe another source will pop up.
