Yuta stood outside UA High, holding his phone in one hand and a bag of sweet buns in the other. He had just finished the world's weirdest breakup, and now he was about to visit the most dramatic, over-the-top man he knew—All Might.
The man was a good hero, a real one out of the thousands of fakes this world had. One of the greatest, if some people had to say.
However, he was weird sometimes. Dramatic and over the top all the time. But perhaps it was his job that made him like that. He always had to put on a front in front of others—being the Symbol of Peace and all.
He hit call.
Ring… ring…
"YUTA, MY BOY!" boomed a very familiar, very heroic voice over the phone. "Is that really you?!"
Yuta had to hold the phone away from his ear. "Yep, it's me, sensei. Mind if I drop by UA? Got something important to talk about."
He had to talk, especially after his fiasco with both All For One and that flying mutated Nomu that was supposed to be Endeavor’s stepping stone to becoming the number one hero—but Yuta stole it.
All eyes were on him. The higher-ups wanted him locked up. Not necessarily behind bars, but anything that could stop him from coming more into the public eye.
As of now, though, he was under house arrest. No thanks to the stunt he pulled against Shie Hassaikai and that Overhaul guy.
Not just him—Mirio and Deku too. All three of them had pulled a fast one on the heroes. While people were happy the villains were taken down without any casualties, the higher-ups and even Yuta’s own teachers were furious with the boys.
House arrest was the best outcome he could’ve asked for at that time. To some degree, he had done that on purpose. Since he traveled between worlds, staying home was better in terms of hiding his disappearances.
"HAHAHA sure, sure. I'll meet you at the gate in five minutes!" The man sounded much happier and more careful ever since All For One was dealt with.
Click.
Yuta sighed. "Still as dramatic as ever…"
Five minutes later, the gate opened, and there he was—All Might in his skinny, deflated form, waving wildly with both arms. He was wrapped in a scarf three sizes too big and carrying a thermos labeled "Protein Juice."
"YUTA!" All Might called out, his voice slightly wheezy but full of energy.
"Hey, sensei," Yuta grinned, handing him the sweet buns. "Thought you'd like these."
"YOU ALWAYS KNOW HOW TO BRING A TEAR TO AN OLD HERO'S EYE!" All Might declared, immediately munching one down like it was the last meal before a final battle.
Though the man’s battling days were over. He had already retired after All For One was dealt with. Leaving the peace of the world to the next generation.
And Yuta... he was the next All Might in the public's eyes.
No... he didn’t even need All Might’s name to rise in rank. People never called him the next All Might.
Because his own hero name already resounded in the world, especially in Japan by now.
'Dynamic'... that was his name.
They sat down on a bench near the sports field, where a bunch of students were running laps.
"So," All Might said, brushing off some crumbs, "How have things been going, my boy? I know you wouldn’t be very happy about the house arrest, but please understand that this is just temporary. You’ve stirred up enough trouble that the higher-ups are losing patience." All Might naturally thought Yuta was dissatisfied with his house arrest.
Yuta, hearing this, just chuckled. "No, no. It's fine. In fact, I'm kind of enjoying the paid leave. Catching up on the video games I missed out on, and all the anime and manga. I wouldn’t mind a house arrest every now and then at all." Yuta grinned.
All Might’s mouth twitched.
'This was supposed to be a punishment, not paid leave...' However, he couldn't say anything. It was still better for Yuta to be destroying virtual bosses and beating game levels rather than destroying buildings and leveling cities.
Yeah, the boy was capable of that, and that’s why he’s been such a pain for those government officials and higher-ups.
They couldn’t move against Yuta. His popularity, power, and connections saved him. Not to mention, even if they did move, they didn’t have anyone powerful enough to handle the aftermath.
"Ah... I miss my youth as well. I used to be much like you, young Yuta. Full of energy and vigor. Alas, age has been catching up to me. Not to mention this old injury...," All Might said with a sigh, flexing his very non-existent bicep.
Trying to change the topic completely.
Yuta turned serious at that. "That’s… actually why I came. I haven’t just been wasting my time. I've been training as well, you know. A lot. And I have grown very strong." Yuta said with a little pride.
He really had been working hard to get stronger. Now he could fight Yonko. He sent Madara Uchiha flying. One look at him and it was evident that the boy was shouting out loud...
'Praise me...'
All Might, though, was different.
'More strength...' That’s all he thought. Isn’t your current strength enough? How much more do you need? He couldn’t help but wonder.
"And I recently learned another way to use my power, and it can heal—pretty deeply too. I want to try it on you."
All Might blinked. "You… want to heal me?"
"Yeah," Yuta said, nodding. "I never had time to try it properly. But if there’s a chance it can bring back even part of your strength or stop the damage… I want to do it."
All Might went quiet for a moment. He wasn’t expecting this. He had long tried many different quirks to heal his wounds, but none worked.
But then he smiled. What teacher wouldn’t be happy seeing his student care this deeply for him?
"Yuta, you truly are a hero. Alright, I accept!"
Yuta laughed. "Cool."
They stood up, and Yuta placed his hand over All Might’s chest. Slowly, golden cursed energy began to flow, soft and glowing like starlight. All Might gasped as warmth spread through his body, deeper than anything he’d felt in years.
Suddenly, he took a full breath, like he suddenly got full access to his lungs for the first time in a long time.
Muscles didn’t suddenly pop back. He didn’t turn into his hulking form again. But his breathing got easier. His shoulders relaxed. The pain—that constant background pain—eased for the first time in a long while.
When it was done, All Might wiped his eyes.
"I didn’t turn into a tank," he smiled, "but I feel like I finally slept a full night."
Yuta grinned. "Hehe... don’t worry, a little good diet and strength training would make you back into Arnold Schwarzenegger. It would’ve already happened if you still had One For All. Without the quirk though, you have to do it the old-fashioned way."
"Yuta," All Might said, placing a hand on his shoulder. He didn’t know what to feel, honestly.
He had long given up on being healed, and it suddenly happened—like it was nothing. He couldn’t believe it.
"Thank you..."
"Haha, don’t worry. It's fine... it’s fine."
