To continue from what I mentioned before, I’ve been thinking about the direction I want to take with animation.
If I simply make my existing images move, it doesn’t feel interesting enough to me. So recently I’ve been trying a different approach—not just making the character move, but also experimenting with camera angles, camera movement, and the overall presentation of each scene. My goal is to make the result feel more like an actual animation, rather than simply “an image that moves.”
At the moment, this part is still quite unstable. The biggest problem is actually not the model itself, but my own ability to write dynamic situations and handle camera movement and visual presentation. Honestly, I’m still pretty bad at that part, haha.
A lot of shots that look good in my head turn out completely different once I actually make them, so I’m still doing a lot of testing and experimenting.
I’ve attached the related test videos below, so feel free to download them if you’re interested.
Shizuka Mikazuki_Test.mp4 is a lower-resolution test output, mainly used to quickly check the motion, angles, and overall result. Once the workflow becomes more stable, I plan to use the output quality of high_Test.mp4 as the standard for future animation work.
Next, I plan to continue testing scene consistency and fixed backgrounds, while also improving my sense of composition, camera angles, and camera movement.
I feel that this part is quite different from simply improving image quality. Besides the technical side, it also requires a lot of visual judgment and experience, so it will probably take quite some time to gradually build up.
The testing process itself has been pretty interesting so far. Sometimes I end up making something that even makes me wonder what I was trying to do, but every test usually helps me discover a new direction.
Just like I mentioned before, I’m not trying to make everything perfect all at once. I’ll keep breaking the problems down and improving them one by one.
Also, I’m still planning to post an image set tomorrow, but something unexpected came up. If I have enough time, I’ll do my best to finish it.
I’ll keep slowly working on the animation side as well. Hopefully, one day I’ll be able to fully recreate the kinds of scenes I currently imagine in my head.
