I do think she cried at the end of “I Wish I Hated You”. After the voice “crack”, to me, it sounded like she was singing while holding backs the tears. Also if you listen to it in order the transition from The Boy Is Mine down to I Wish I Hated You makes more sense.

Ariana and Breezy actually had a song together...they were gonna release it (it was technically still released/leaked) but she didn't want controversy for collabing with him. A lot of women get backlash for partnering with him (Normani, Chloe, Nicki, etc). The Boys Is Mine is confirmed to be the next single of the album! The message at the end answers the question in the intro!

To explain this album, She found a new love within her co-star from “Wicked”. Everyone painted HER to be the bad guy and that was when the allegations of her breaking up a love started and they called her a home-wrecker. & when she released “yes, and?” everyone thought that was her being heartless and confirming that she was an awful person, but if you fully listen to the album in her order, you realize that she falls out of love with her previous partner and finds new love in her costar, which the media caught on to, and everyone hated her for. So “We Can’t Be Friends” is her way of saying, I don’t care what the media says and paints me to be. I will wait until you like me again, because no one understood that she was initially miserable in her first relationship.
