Julie van der Staak

This was stressful to read, which is a compliment by the way. Can't wait for part 3!!

Bethany Bluebird

Stevennnn he looks like such a dapper lil man!! SO cute!! He is. NOT a good Liar though. And PEARL you can't just say that! Cannot WAIT TO SEE THE DISASTER THAT IS INCOMING. I am so ready for this big flaming dumpster fire of an interaction. She's on to you Steven! **Dr. Mahashwaran didn't go to medical school because she was a dummy! Had to edit because my half-asleep butt forgot to use Connies' mom's correct title >.<

Theodore Vicary

Looks like things are starting to get spicy. For Steven and the others are going out of the hot soup to blazing fires.

Uria, Lord of Searing Games

Man, this really is like ever awkward family reunion dinner I've ever been to. I feel so bad for Steven right now

Kennedy

This is so well written. The amount of second-hand stress/embarrassment I got from this? Oof! I love it!

TheChekhov

Glad to hear!! It's one of the episodes I was looking forward to the most, so I'm glad it's coming across well! :)

TheChekhov

Hahaha you're right. I wanna give him some slack because he was NOT expecting the other gems to arrive but... He's just doing his best! 😂

Rogue Command

In the words of Gene Wilder "The suspense is killing me!...I hope it'll last!"

Texas Gent

This is classic sitcom shenanigans

Sesharan

Arrrrggghhh this is almost physically painful. Poor Steven!

Neko

Seaglass is basically a child, and she's the only one not causing problems. 😐

Elias

THE WAY PEARL PUSHES HER POINTY NOSE ON THE WINDOW 😭 LOL

AuzzieAnxiety

I can feel the tension and the stress affecting me; this is so well written! ^^

hoodie

OH MY GOD I AM LOVING THIS!

Chris

Agreed! I was cringing so hard at Amethyst and Pearl. I wonder what does Garnet think of all of this 🤔

Megan Barhorst

Considering how often this comic has been willing to let situations that resolved cleanly/happily go much worse/messier than the source material, I'm genuinely on the edge of my seat that this version of the Maheswarans are *not* going to accept Steven, considering 1) the fundamentally different nature of the lie they went with (OG Steven was as honest as *Connie's* lie allowed in that he *did* bring his guardians, whereas this is completely Steven's fabrication), and 2) the lack of anyone actually situated/suited to pull authority/discipline on Steven (which won the Maheswarans over the first time).

Megan Barhorst

Although, now that I've said that, crossing my fingers that Steven somehow wins them over by being responsible *towards Seaglass.*

Helen Pham

I’m scared of fallouts man. Just let Steven stay friends with Connie and let the parental figures like Steven 🫠

Squat

When Pearl suddenly appeared I choked, I swear I heard every single line spoken out in my head and they all felt 100% natural. I have to ask, if Sea Glass had a voice actor, who would it be? For some reason I've been swapping back and forth between Kristen Schaal and E.G. Daily.

Eleven

Good ol cartoon logic that being said I give it 2 minutes before the cliff falls out from under them and this whole charade comes crashing hard to the ground

Treeshores

Inherited from my late mother. Oh Steven. Apollo and his ball of prophecy got you.

oo

Damn, that was stressful to read. This scene is a lot more intense than the original series. You did an excellent job of making me want to crawl into a hole. 10/10 plus the art work is amazing as usual.

Red

Poor Steven, he's trying so hard. The hospital episode did so much for him and Connie in canon.

Lagtim3

It's a good thing Steven has a rock where his brain should be, otherwise he would've had an aneurism by now.

Amphobet

Wow, that was... legitimately uncomfortable! Nice job.

Susannah

This is the first time Steven has ever referred to White as his mother.
