Getting messy is hard for me.

Messy Ladybugger 🐞I’ve always been more of a clean edges, soft color kind of artist. But I see so many mixed media artists dive in—layers of texture, splatters, bold marks—and it always looks so good!

I’m working on loosening up and letting go a bit more… to be okay with the unknown and the messy middle. It’s not easy, but I think that’s where a lot of growth and fun happens.

Do you enjoy getting messy in your art? Or are you more like me—learning to embrace it a little at a time?
