April Challenge – Week 3: Tiny CreaturesThursday’s Prompt: Koi Fish 🐟

These little koi's came together quickly, and I kinda loved that.

I used to feel like every painting had to take hours to be “worth it,” but I’ve learned that quick studies have their own kind of magic. They loosen us up, help us stop overthinking, and sometimes they even turn out better than the ones we labor over!

While painting this koi, I focused more on movement and flow than perfect details. I let the water lead, and the colors swirl… and honestly, it felt freeing.

If you haven’t tried a fast, loose version of a subject you love, I highly recommend it. You might surprise yourself.
