Cadillac Mountain Sunrise 🌄 + Bonus Gold Tutorial - First attempt!

This expressive LIVE watercolor painting was inspired by the breathtaking view from the top of Cadillac Mountain — the first place to see the sunrise in the U.S.

In this full-length tutorial, I’ll walk you through how I painted the rocky textures, misty skies, and glowing golden light without a sketch. It’s all about trusting your brush, playing with layers, and letting the flow of watercolor guide you.

Watercolor Paint colors I used Rosa: Sap Green, Cad yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Turquoise Blue, Paynes Gray, Sepia Brown, Yellow Ochre.

Paper: Any Cotton 140lb - I'm using Fabriano Block pad 5x7 Bright White.

Brushes: Medium Goat Hair Synthetic blend by Lenbenzon: Coupon code: Kellie for 20% Off. But use any round brush with a nice point. For Small Details, you can use a Princeton #1 Script/liner.
