Ever feel like your watercolor has a mind of its own? Too much water… Not enough control… And suddenly everything goes downhill?

This 15 minute warm-up is all about slowing down just enough to play and learn at the same time. In this abstract piece, we’re exploring color, layering and soft blends water control without overworking the paper, loose lines and texture mark making with a dip, pen, gold paint, and sharpie this isn’t about creating a perfect painting. It’s about understanding how water behaves and getting comfortable. GIving yourself a full 15 minutes lets you let you push things a little further… add layers, experiment, and see what happens without rushing.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or frustrated with Watercolor this is a great way to reset and just enjoy the process again.

looking forward to our next LIVE 5 minute warm up in the membership Friday morning!

I've never tried hot press. Ellen crimini Trent uses it frequently in her tutorials also. I need to get some. But I'm loving abstracts. They seem to tap a hidden part of my brain!

I don’t use it often, because I love the texture of cold-pressed when painting water and rocks! I do like Hotpress for florals though!! 💜🌸 I'm so excited about that hidden abstract spots in our brains too, I've been feeding it a lot lately!!
