Hello Art Family!

After sharing the full-length 40 + minute sunset tutorial an hour ago, I couldn't resist sharing the second painting in under 25 mintues - with corrections!

In this bonus video, I'm taking a looser, quicker approach and sharing some of my thoughts throughout the process as I paint. You'll get to see how the same subject can turn out a little differently each time, and how I make decisions in the moment when working with watercolor.

One of the things I love most about watercolor is that no two paintings are ever exactly alike. Even when using the same reference and colors, the water, pigment, and timing create their own unique magic.

Sometimes it's helpful to watch a painting unfold in real time, and other times it's just as valuable to see a quicker version and hear what's going through an artist's mind along the way.

I hope you enjoy this second take on the sunset scene!

🎨 I'd love to hear from you:Do you usually paint the same subject more than once, or are you always looking for something new to paint?

Happy Painting!Kellie πŸ’œ

Oh gosh I paint the same thing over and over until I get it. Right now I am doing watercolor circles. I have painted 10 of them, and still am not happy!

I always have to paint something twice when trying something new

I'm almost always an outlier. "Variety is the spice of life" is my motto. As you may have already guessed, pine trees bore the heck out of me. Except when a couple of them fall on top of my house! That's Atlanta for you. I was in music before this--had to give it up due to my neck issues. I know that practicing makes everything better, but I need to have fun with other subjects in the meantime. It makes things more interesting for me. I get bored easily. I sure hope I haven't offended anyone.
