Hey everyone!

Summer is officially here, and I wanted to kick things off with something playful, vibrant, and a little bit sweet. I've been having so much fun playing with summer themes, and this Waffle Cone Floral piece was pure joy to create with my painting Patreon buddy @Chelsey!

There is something so satisfying about blending the crisp, structured lines of a crunchy waffle cone with the absolute freedom of loose, bleeding watercolor florals.

What We’re Exploring in This Piece:

Loose Floral Layering: Letting the pigments blend right on the paper to create those gorgeous, effortless summer petals.

Playing with a Vibrant Palette: Mixing rich, deep purples with pops of sunny yellow and warm pinks to really make the bouquet dance.

Texture & Contrast: Using clean, fine line work to build the value and grid texture on the cone, making the soft florals above it pop even more.

I absolutely love how the little berry accents and soft purple fillers frame the main arrangement. It’s the perfect reminder to just play, let the water do the work, and not take things too seriously!
