Oh, dear sweat glorious pancakes, am I seriously glad you guys and gals chose the option to have the Strawhats watch the events of Marineford. Even just having them view the battle itself, with fewer interjections than I originally intended at that, took nearly 6,000 words! If we'd gone with the other method, just the battle would have chewed through the entire month's 15,000 words.

As is, I stretched the usual size of the 1st of the month update up to over 8,250 words in order to cover Luffy waking up, a little bit of a surprise that's relevant to the image (pure AI generation of my own 'making'), and the viewing of the battle. It doesn't cover the reactions in the aftermath yet, give us a look into the other side's heads, or any of the other bits that now need doing.

This is a rare instance I'm going to specifically state you should probably read the Authors notes for at least chapter Chapter 75 after you read it, as I'm fairly sure many of you will have questions. The most prominent of those will be answered there.

Otherwise, the update is as usual! The new chapters are here in various formats, and the pinned post will get new master files with the whole fic shortly. Though I will likely do the comments first this time. Enjoy the story, folks!

Chapter 75: A/N 1: Mwhwhahaha, did Dis surprise you? Well, she surprised me too! :-p. Okay, kidding aside, I've always intended for the ship to develop it's own spirit, hence why it's had a stat on its status panel specifically for that from the start. Canon establishes the Klabautermann thing. Luffy's system, not to mention him and Kaya both intentionally feeding the ship Spiritual Energy pure instead of just accidentally by loving the ship, was intended to cover for giving the Discovery's in particular far more agency than normal. It was still mostly going to be a spirit though...right up until I was hunting through canon Devil Fruits to find one I wanted to give the Discovery. For quite a while, I thought it would be a Paramecia and that I might need to make a variant. A Steel Steel Fruit or Metal Metal Fruit that would allow the manipulation of metal. Since I'd decided to go submersible instead of straight to flight, that seemed the most logical option. Then...I stumbled upon the Mori Mori no Mi. A Fruit that isn't explicitly in circulation yet, since the character who uses it doesn't appear until post timeskip...and has no backstory for when he acquired it. I very quickly realized it was perfect. For a lot of the same reasons that Luffy and the girls did. When I decided to go with it, I ALSO had a moment of inspiration. I'd always intended for the Spirit of the Discovery to 'wake up' right around now. I realized, though, that if it was kicked over the edge of waking up by one of the only Devil Fruits that actively manipulates organic matter? Specifically LIVING plants? There was a chance here to take the plan for the Discovery to have a spirit capable of interacting with them and dial it to 11 by giving it the ability to 'grow' a body for itself. Something like a Dryad body, though with bits of metal and crystal to represent other parts of her construction. Thus was born...Dis. A/N 2: Logically, some being had to make the System. I'm never intending to introduce them, but I've been treating the system something like it was running as a sub system on something like Yggdrasil, the heavenly supercomputer from 'Oh My Goddess!'. Not specifically that, there isn't any element of that series here. I'm just treating it like the System has enough programmed intelligence and directives to detect when something it considers genuinely evil is encountered by a system user. It doesn't push its users into doing anything, but WILL reward them for eliminating problems the system detects as genuinely evil/reality threatening. The 'Abyss' that Imu, the Five Elders, and the Knights use qualifies.

Ya dis did surprise me especially the image of her I had thought that I had ended up on a different update

Chapter 76: A/N 1: Something I've made clear (I think) from the start is that this is a slightly less anime, more realism (sorta, not quite the right word, I think) version of One Piece. People actually die, and Words no Jutsu is not engaged in every 17 seconds. Battles don't stop for people to talk, and people like Whitebeard aren't going to give up a surprise attack just to try to negotiate. The Marines deliberately and intentionally provoked him into war, far more clearly and obviously than in canon. He was never going to stop and talk, letting the whole battle be insanely bloodless for something that was supposed to be world-shifting. Nope. People died here. Lots and lots and lots of people. The majority of them Marines. Between the hits they'd already taken, the closing of the Alabasta trade route to the WG, and the fact Whitebeards final Fuck You likely killed 20,000+ Marines? The Marines and WG are NOT coming out of this fight with the same strongish position they had in canon. They were hurt MUCH worse, and the Whitebeard Pirates aren't quite as leaderless either. Marco was never really driven to try and hold the crew together, for whatever reason, despite being strong enough. Ace, on the other hand? He's an entirely different matter. He's still the second division commander and considerably stronger than he was in canon. Remember, he wiped most of Blackbeard's crew and seriously injured Blackbeard, enough for Teach to run from him. He's AT LEAST on Blackbeard's level, meaning Warlord level at minimum. He'll actively try to hold the Whitebeard Pirates together in a way that Marco never attempted, though how successful he is will remain to be seen.

typo: It's Boa Hancock, not Boa Handcock.

Loghead101

Damn. Great chapter bud. Figured the Discovery’s claubaterman would become another crew member at some point considering the spiritual side of things you added to the story but figured it would be a ghostly figure or require a Zoan. But we got wood nymph daughter (and she is absolutely Luffy’s daughter, he built that girl from the ground up) so that’s fun’s to see. Sengoku dying is something I didn’t see coming though, he does retire and doesn’t do much afterwards so nothing changes. Only thing else I can say is Luffy has to pick up the Quake fruit and the Buddha fruit from the shop. I don’t know how many points he has left but those two are too damn strong to leave out in the wild. Good stuff man, can’t wait for the next one!

Novus's Fanfiction Works

As I mentioned in the author's note, she surprised me too :-p. She was originally going to be a much more boring spirit-manifestation they could talk too, rather than the Dryad like result that I ended up with instead.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

We all know Oda really meant Handcock for...reasons. She's the 'most beautiful woman in the world' and great at making people people stiff ;-). More seriously, I'll correct it in the Master File :-). Thanks.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Currently, he should have three points, I think. Which means only one or the other, probably. Likely the Quake-Quake Fruit, due to it's potential for raw destruction. On the plus side, both are just as likely to have appeared on a Pirate Ship instead of Marineford, given how utterly wrecked Marineford was by Whitebeard's last Fuck You attack. As for Dis, she's closer to the whole crew's daughter, since they all contributed to her creation via infusing the ship with their desires. But yes, she takes after Luffy more than anyone, with Kaya the closest after that due to her actively infusing Spiritual Energy into the ship at times. It's why Dis isn't actually very warlike, as Luffy's an explorer/adventurer at heart and Kaya a healer. Ergo, the peppy, happy personality instead of a gruff 'let me blow everything up with these awesome guns' type :-p.

Fun Fact: The Kuja are *all* named after flowers, so Hancock might be named after the Symphoricarpos Hancock (the Snowberry), which is a dwarf variety of the Chenault Coralberry of the Honeysuckle family. It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/54tIpxE.png Additionally, Hancock shares a name with Thomas Hancock, an inventor with a passion for rubber who founded the British rubber industry. Hancock also shares a passion for rubber- Luffy. EDIT: spelling.

Eklis

Holy fuck!! That was amazing!! It really is more realistic than the classic anime (or as most people say, the Naruto-talking-no-jutsu) of talking with the enemy, and even stoping a fight to the death just to do more talking!

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Huh. Did not know the flower thing. Though Hancock isn't actually her name, just the 'Official English name.' Her Romanized name is actually Boa Hankokku. The English publisher change it to Hancock, much like they changed Alabasta to Arabasta (which is a change I refuse to accept).

Robert Lemanski

> Whitebeard was barely looking better. He’d lost one hand, an eye, half his mustache, and the wound on his chest had reopened and expanded. His breathing was ragged even as his distinctive ‘Gu ra ra ra ra’ laugh silenced the entire battlefield. RIP Whitebeard's mustache- a constant and inevitable casualty of all fics that reach Marineford. We didn't deserve your awesomeness. I hope Whitebeard's dog Stefan, who has a mustache approaching the same level of majesty, can recover from this loss. --- A lovely chapter, and an amazing Marineford FULL of Category 5 Butterfly Effects. With Akainu hurt, even if he goes full cyborg and gets some fake limbs (as opposed to just Logia Legs like Aokiji did post timeskip), Akainu's performance at Marineford (getting his ass handed to him by a Yonkou 2nd in Command and then getting literally disarmed by a lower-tier Division Commander) is bad enough that, when combined with how terrible of a showing the Marines had in general, the Gorosei trying to force through Akainu as Fleet Admiral might very well cause mass desertions/mass loss of trust in the Marines. This is something the Gorosei must avoid at all costs, now that faith in the Marines ability to fight pirates will be at all time low. Which leaves Aokiji and Kizaru as the only viable candidates for Fleet Admiral. Kizaru vanished right at the start of the war, which is not a good look for him. Even if he can justify it with him having gone to defend the lives of World Nobles, the majority of rank and file Marines won't be happy with that explanation, especially when the cause of the problem- a mere rookie pirate and one of his crew members- stalled Kizaru successfully. Even if Kizaru can say "But it's Garp's Grandson AND Kaidou's Kid!", it's still not a great look for him as it could come across like Kizaru has lost his touch. And those high enough in the Marine ranks will know that, even after a Gorosei showed up in person to help him, Kizaru still *failed* to save the World Nobles, which was the entire reason he left the Marineford battlefield in the first place. So yeah, Kizaru is almost certainly out of the running for Fleet Admiral. This is something the Gorosei might actually prefer because Kizaru's Unclear Justice might be even worse in their eyes- Aokiji can be somewhat predictable, but Kizaru on the other hand in his own words is just "a mere cog in the machine" salaryman doing his job, and all salarymen have their bottom line where they burnout or quit. Which leaves Aokiji as the only viable option, something that the Gorosei are going to hate. And, given Aokiji quitting the Marines to become a Blackbeard pirate post-TS after losing to Akainu in a duel (which, to be fair, is almost certainly him going undercover after having joined the Marines deniable assets black OPs group called SWORD), Aokiji's actions from here on out as Fleet Admiral are really hard for *anyone* in-universe, or us fans, to predict. What will happen to Aokiji's Lazy Justice (the key word of which Darakekitta can also be translated as Dulled Justice or Listless Justice) when he is called to sit in the Big Chair? Will his Lazy Justice become Hardworking Justice? Will his Dulled Justice be Sharpened Justice once again? Will his Listless Justice become Spirited Justice? Only time, and Novus, will tell. :)

Robert Lemanski

Actually, Hancock is her name. Hancock's name in Japanese is spelled using katakana, the Japanese phonetic alphabet typically used for foreign/loanwords. Hankokku (ハンコック) is the Japanese spelling of Hancock that is used for places like Hancock County in Illinois as well as the Will Smith Hancock movie. Here's a Japanese-English dictionary website that I (someone who speaks Japanese fluently, and has lived in Japan for a few years) find quite useful: https://jisho.org/search/hancock. (You can search the site by using the Romanized spelling of Japanese words, or by copying and pasting the Japanese word.) --- But yeah, Alabasta to Arabasta is an unclear localization, and is more a matter of personal preference than accuracy imo, because Japanese has no sound for *either* the English R or the English L. The Japanese kana (ra/ri/ru/re/ro) are actually pronounced phonetically right in the middle between an English R and English L. For Alabasta, the name might come from Arabia, so perhaps "Arabasta" would be right... if not for the fact that Oda has used in English both "Arabasta" and "Alabasta" on maps/labels of the island. And it could also be named after Alabaster, which is a mineral commonly found in ancient Egyptian artifacts... So, imo Alabasta is more accurate. But there are also a few places in the Middle East called Al Basta, so that could maybe be right too... So... yeah, lol. Alabasta vs Alabasta is probably gonna be a debate in the One Piece fandom that will never end.

Orchamus

Damn, I figured Newgate would still die but hoped I was wrong. Still, makes sense if anyone could do it it'd be Sengoku or Garp. VERY MUCH looking forward to the various reactions throughout the crew and world due this crazy battle and Luffy and co's actions. Especially looking forward to if Ace and crews hear about what Luffy did to help them out.

Dominique Brassel

Mh isn't all of this interesting 🤔..... So first of what I have noticed now is that the crew is now completely independent for food ,with namis water generation ( and the desalination equipment if I remember right) and now discoverys vegi/fruit generation so they only need meat and seekings can be hunted for that so even without vivis air doors they don't necessarily need any other food supplies...... Actually thinking about it the mori mori no mi should let discovery also grow all those bullshit plants Usopp encountered in the time skip in canon meaning all the food can be grown as well as all those pop green things( more weapons for dis)...... Second as you mentioned in your notes the marines are kind of fucked in the logistics department but as the impel down break out didn't happen a lot of the level 5 prisoners that originally escaped because of Blackbeard and supposedly caused trouble won't be a problem so the situation isn't as bad as it could be for the wg and marines ..... On the other hand shiki could make some real trouble without him being done in by the straw hats and the neo marines should also be a thing perhaps they will help the "normal" marines....... Third now the only thing the discovery need to be self sufficient is some form of metal or mineral generation I personally would say a general mineral control/ generating fruit would be best utility for dis as it would still include metals but be a bit border...... As my other choice for the third fruit would be shikis but he of course still has it ..... Forth a quick question how far/ to whom was the battle broadcast in the original sengoku stopped the broadcast at some point as this time it didn't seem to be the case or has Robin/Vivi/someone made sure it was broadcast everywhere that could receive it And last white beards fruit is vibration generation/control so could someone or something with that fruit do the things quake/skye from marvel could do with vibrations if so it could be an actual good fruit for dis as well ...... And bevor I forgot wonderful chapters I eagerly await more

BPellet

Thank you for the update Novus! The overall summary of the Marineford battle was really enjoyable, and closer to the devasting war that "Fan Letter" depicted I think. Interested to see when all the questions from this fight are resolved though. Like did you offscreen Mihawk's death to Shanks, will Aokiji become fleet admiral, and were those FRANKY's mechs??? The fallout from this and Luffy's plan are going to be crazy, honestly though I'm kinda worried that the marines are a bit too weakened now to be a true threat in the endgame (especially with Shiki still lurking). I'm sad to see Whitebeard die before ever getting to interact with Luffy but at least it was a good death, and I'm glad he went out with one last giant F you of saying his iconic line and destroying Marineford for his crew. Can't wait for the next update where the call with Rayleigh should happen. Hopefully Rayleigh also reveals if Shanks really did offscreen Mihawk, and then proceeded to stop Kaidou from interfering again.

Emir Güven

I am looking forward to seeing stats of whole crew and discovery. Oh and whole aftermath of cluster fuck of a day for marines and WG. And and new bounties. Mannnnn this chapters was not enough to scratch the itch fully but eh, it will have to do for now. God bless Novus-sama 😜

Jaideep

They do have crystal so they can kinda negate the metal thing quite a bit

WhatAFungi

Fucking awesomeness. I love Eve from Vime’s one piece story. So I was really excited when I realized, a while ago, the Discovery was going to get a spirit. Dis did not disappoint, can’t wait to see how cool a living, shapeshifter, sentient boat is. Especially if she can power, control, and aim the guns. Such a good story!!!!!

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Yeah, I'll freely admit Eve was the original inspiration for giving the Discovery it's own Spirit. Though I went a slightly different route, since I hate outright copycatting other peoples work :-p. Dis will be a bit more free to act and interact than eve because of the unique way she came about. She'll also have a drastically different personality because this crew is ultimately less combative by nature, and the crew's personality contributed to hers.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Hmmm, I suppose I can do another stats release later in the month. Normally I wouldn't do them so close together, but it WAS admittedly a big enough battle that many of them have hit level ups, including Luffy.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Fan Letter? Glad you liked it :-). Mihawk/Shanks and Aokiji questions will be answered in time, of course! They were not Fanky's mechs. I'm not sure when it will come up in story, so I don't mind explaining them now to prevent confusion. The mechs were scaled down versions of Vegaforce-01. The Marines leaned on Vegapunk for something MORE than just the Pacifista and he basically threw old ideas together to give them something. Scaled down Vegaforce-01's with the Beam Saber that Bonney found in his Junkyard. Described by him as a failure since the bright light attracted a ton of insects -_-. The Marines are much more weakened than in canon, yes. But remember that they really AREN'T the end game powers. That's the Five Elders, Knights, and Imu. Along with agents like CP-0. It's also not all going to be sunshine and roses that they got weakened. For all the bad they were doing, they WERE keeping a lot of the world protected from rogue elements. I would have never forgiven myself for leaving out that iconic line :-p. I also honestly felt it was always a shame how little impact he had, due to the betrayals and Blackbeard. Here, without those things happening, he showed just WHY he was considered so dangerous a bit better.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Yep, that additional independence is part of what convinced Luffy it was a good choice. They can now just flat out submerge for a long period if they ever need to, basically dropping off the radar in much the way Shiki did by going up to a Sky Island. The ability to do that at will, providing the crew a safe haven/safe retreat, is extremely valuable. Not to mention, of course, that it's effectively given them an infinite money cheat because of how valuable Adam Wood is. A resource that even New World crews would readily trade for, at that. In theory, it can also grow pop greens, yes. Personally, I was never really impressed with them. Most of them are more utility than anything, with only a couple having real striking power that would let them compare with even a basic bullet covered in Haki, which Usopp is already learning to do. That said, if they find samples, the Mori Mori no Mi might actually be able to enhance them, making them a bit more useful. Sure, the Impel down breakout didn't happen. But that really just means the Marines still have a lot of people committed to protecting it. People they have to supply. Impel Down is an active drain on them more than it is anything. I already know what the Discovery's last fruit will be :-p. I won't even hint, though, as acquiring it is going to be one of the first Major Arcs in the Timeskip section. In fact, after dealing with the aftermath of the Marineford War, it's really the next major arc planned period. As for the broadcast? I don't remember it being cut. The reporters still had a view from the Archipelago screens right up through Ace's death if I remember right. Either way, even if it was eventually cut for the civilians, the copy the crew watched was from an internal Marine-only transmission. They stole the receiver snail from the Saobody Marine Base right before blowing it up.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

I've always kinda been of the opinion that Whitebeard never really intended to come out of that fight alive. He'd been dying slowly for years, and this offered him a last epic struggle instead of a death in bed wasting away.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Hmmm, there is one more viable candidate too. Who the WG will hate even more, but that's the only hint I'll give ;-).

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Yep. I honestly understand why the Talk-no-Jutsu (also Flashback-no-Jutsu) moments are a thing in most anime. They provide the exposition and story elements to the series. In a novel-format I don't have to do that, though, as I'm not crunched into such limited time chunks and an animation budget ;-). So making a more realistic viewpoint is more interesting to me. We've already seen the anime version in the original canon, after all!

Novus's Fanfiction Works

*eye swirlies at the technical language breakdown* I'll take you're word for it! Though I actually did know the R/L issue, which is why I don't accept the Arabasta localization. I first encountered it as Alabasta and by the time the 'official' translation came out, it had already solidified as Alabasta in my mind.

Robert Lemanski

Fan Letter is the best thing to happen to the One Piece anime, since the Marineford Arc. It's written by One Piece fans, and was produced when the anime went on a hiatus as a lead-in to a reanimated Fishman Island arc. It's amazing, focusing on the perspective of "the little guys"- civilian fans of the Strawhats, and some lower ranked Marine Officer survivors of Marineford. The Marineford war is briefly shown from the perspective of two Marine brothers just trying to survive while absolute monsters on both sides throw around attacks causing mass devastation. It's a single episode, so I highly suggest you watch it! Even jaded manga-only fans that have long since stopped watching the anime have watched it and admitted they were glad to have done so. --- As for the mechas, you could also have the Vegapunk mechas at Marineford be upgraded versions of the mecha/robots used on Jail Island, the setting of One Piece World Seeker (my favorite One Piece game, the only one that *really* nails what it feels like to free travel as Luffy using Gum Gum Rockets). Here's the "Anti-Admiral Suit" that the Prison Warden and scientist Isaac had managed to make by post-TS. https://i.imgur.com/wU7XcdK.png A pre-TS, scaled down and remote operated/non-piloted version of that would be a reasonable thing the Marines could have done a rush job for to roll them out in time for the war against Whitebeard. And here's a DLC robot boss from the game named Kagero *that Oda designed*! https://i.imgur.com/KTxYyCu.png And the mass produced security robot on Jail Island. https://i.imgur.com/W41sHcH.png If you want to keep the one's at Marineford as Vegapunk designs, that's cool. But going forward, with the Marines and World Government scrambling for things to refill their ranks with, the WG could easily tap Warden Isaac on Jail Island to mass produce some robots for them. The interesting factor to that, if you decided to go down that route, is that in World Seeker both Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Smoker acted like they were under the authority of Isaac while on Jail Island (likely due to it having Dyna Stones, a movies/game only source of extremely powerful energy). That could be an interesting dynamic to play with, if you wanted to go that route.

Camille

Thanks so much for the chapter! +15 to all Stats is insane at this point! It’s great in establishing Luffy as stronger than Yamato though. The Mori Mori no mi is a great addition! Discovery is getting so OP I love it xD Looking forward to what devil fruit you will give Aramaki instead. Or maybe he won’t get one and become a Vice-Admiral instead since Akainu might be able to retain enough strength to stay an admiral (if he isn’t dead) so Fujitora would be enough to fill up the Admiral spots. Those mechs look like Franky might have been forcefully recruited by the marines? Would be an interesting development… Akainu being crippled means that Aokiji is very very likely to be next fleet commander, which is good I think? You never really know what to expect with him so who knows… Definitely better than Akainu though. I hope Mihawk hasn’t died offscreen, would be disappointing for Zoro and Kuina! Whitebeard dying is expected, but will probably be less problematic than in canon for the same reasons your author’s note gave. I hope that Kaido and Big Mom don’t try to eradicate the Whitebeard pirates before they are able to recover some of their strength though. Jozu being alive is great though, and the Whitebeard pirates lost less of their strength than they could have so I don’t think they’ve become an easy target. They’ve definitely lost less compared to the marines. The marines have been SEVERELY weakened! This is great for Alabasta though! Kobra is going to be very relieved :) Shiki is still a big problem though, I hope that Luffy decides to take him on sometime during the timeskip after some time training as some kind of test before the New World. His Float-Float DF would be perfect for Discovery’s last devil fruit slot, and it would be a valuable experience for Luffy’s crew to get stronger (on top of their scheduled training) before they challenge Kaido. Looking forward to the mid-month update! Can’t wait to see Ace and Marco’s reaction when they realise how much Luffy and his crew helped them out. (Unless they don’t find out, but they should at definitely be curious as to what Kizaru was doing so it’s unlikely that it stays a secret, especially since Rayleigh knows.) The whole world’s reaction to these events is going to be so interesting!

Robert Lemanski

Yeah, it's the trifecta of Al Basta being an irl place in the Middle East, alabaster being a thing used by ancient Egyptians, and Oda having also used the "Alabasta" spelling that makes me absolutely unwilling to accept Arabasta as legitimate lol. Plus, I started reading One Piece back when the manga was in Skypiea, and fan translations pretty consistently had it as Alabasta... even when they absolutely butchered other names. Like with my personal favorite of Kuma and Doffy's introduction panel, the Seven Gods of Pirate Bisoromi Bear and Tanjiahdo Lofulamingo-sama. Seen here in this classic fan-translation. https://i.imgur.com/m1OLQYh.jpeg If you want Luffy to really piss off any Doflamingo Family survivors, have him call Doffy that lol.

BPellet

Fan Letter is a cool One Piece special that I would strongly recommend you check out. It focuses on random civilians, but the best parts are when it shows the scenes of lowly marines just struggling to survive at Marineford. It's the last thing I've watched from OP since I've switched fully to the manga instead, but it should still be relatively easy to find.

Robert Lemanski

Hmm... If we're not limiting it to the current three Admirals... Vice Admiral Tsuru, maybe? She's got the needed rep (canon direct Admiral recruits like Fujitora and Green Bull do not so aren't really an option for the currently demoralized), and was said to be the most experienced Marine and is Sengoku's direct Staff Officer. Plus, in a flashback Doflamingo who didn't hesitate to tangle with Admiral Fujitora straight up ran away from Tsuru as soon as he heard she was coming. I could see the Gorosei really disliking her, as she's probably wily enough to limit their influence some. And, more relevantly to the Gorosei, her Wash Wash Devil Fruit can *wash the evil off of people*, which could make Tsuru an uniquely absurdly dangerous individual for the Gorosei to meet directly in person, and that is something that the Fleet Admiral does do often. --- The only other option that would have the rep and the strength for the position would be Garp, who just came out of Marineford looking like the Hero of the Marines he is. But it'd be hard to say who would hate the idea of Fleet Admiral Garp more- the Gorosei who just lost one of their members to his grandson... or Garp himself who would laugh for a minute straight before hanging up on them, if they were brave/insane enough to offer him the position. Beyond that, Former Admiral Zephyr should still be a Marine instructor at this point, as it was during the timeskip that he resigned in protest after the pirate that took his arm was offered a Warlord position. But Zephyr is close to forming a splinter-cell Neo Marine movement, which the Gorosei might already be aware of, and is even more hardcore Absolute Justice kill all pirates on sight than Akainu, which is the kind of thing the Gorosei might want to avoid until the Marines can regain their lost strength and reputation. There are also two Marines we know about that were strong enough to be selected as candidates for replacing the Admirals in canon, Momousagi (Pink Rabbit) Gion- a female Vice Admiral swordswoman who wields a meito and in a movie was seen scolding Garp for bad behavior- and Chaton (Brown Pig) Tokikake- a male Vice Admiral who we don't know much about. Oh, and former Fleet Admiral now WG Commander-in-Chief Kong is still alive, so he's technically an option, but he is old and likely nowhere near as strong as is needed for the position, especially after a Yonkou killed the previous Fleet Admiral.

Daemonioros

Oh hell no. Garp???? I can't imagine that would go over well. And he very well might refuse the promotion again.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

+15 to his stats is a bit boost, yes. He also killed one of the most powerful people in One Piece to get it though :-p. Even if it was mostly luck. The mechs aren't Frankie's work. Their mini versions of Vegaforce-01. Zoro and Kuina would actually be pleased if Mihawk died, so long as it was to Shanks. Remember, Mihawk doesn't have the title fully here, as he and Shanks kept tying (Shanks didn't lose an arm, so they never stopped their duels). Shanks finally beating him would mean that SOMEONE had the title they are after, whereas before they'd have had to beat both of them to get the title. Shiki will be dealt with, but I won't say more on that since anything I could say would be a major spoiler :-p. Ace and Marco will at least hear about why Kizaru vanished, if most likely not about one of the Elder's getting involved.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Yeah, I consumed a bunch of One Piece back when it was fan translated still. Which means it was Alabasta. Given that there was literally no reason for the change from that in the official translation (as you pointed out, Oda himself had used Alabasta), I elect to ignore the 'Arabasta' translation as nonsense :-p.

Dominique Brassel

Well I was more thinking of the weird food plans that grow burgers and shit on that island flower thing but the pop greens were more an idea for dis and the ship as secondary/tertiary defenses and for utility for our new "daughter" ...... But if dis and the discovery can use haki that would be kind of really impressive...... A armament haki infused railgun shell from over the horizon target with goru goru no mi boosted observation haki sound kind and of scary to be honest..... ...... we have a shipgirl now...... Right for the broadcast in canon sengoku ordered it cut but buggy aquired one of the snails and keep it going I don't know how any of that works but buggy got targeted for it a bit in the battle..... I want to know if it was broadcast to "everyone" because of white beards last words they will have a lot more of an impact if a lot of people saw and heard that Well then I'm looking forward to what you have planned for the last fruit and the time skip arc....... now that I think about fruits again how do you think that mafia boss captains fortress fruit would work for a ship..... Damm now I have to many ideas ..... I think a just let you surprise us all

J.Rogue

I was not ready for that outcome but excellent work

Damn!!! Damn. Damn…. I was not expecting the battle to end that wY, i thought luffy would have tipped the scales enough for a one sided victory at the loss of maybe a few mook tears…but i guess the marines put their back into it. Even if it cost them way more as an organization then it cost the pirates as a whole.

I also really loved whitebeard showing up and just starting wholesale slaughter on the marines. If someone kidnapped someone i considered my son to execute them all for the sake of some cockiness scheme to kill me? Theyre not getting some honorable fight where we debate ethics and morality. Theyre are getting themselves and everyone who followed them put into a deep watery grave.
