Right! Well you certainly shouldn't forget about the Stripper With a System Companion Poll I posted earlier today, it is also the mid-month release day for Halfway Broken!

A pair of special notes about this particular chapter set. First, I've taken liberties with Little East Blue. As in, if you went and watched those tie-in episodes for the movie, much of it doesn't properly match with the details of my version. Since it was non-canon anime-only filler, I don't feel the least bit guilty having hijacked a few bits of it to build on Kuina, Sanji, and Kaya's backstories and upgrade possibilities. This is just letting you know that, those few of you who are familiar with how Little East Blue was supposed to be, should expect it not to match entirely.

The second special note is that, once they move on from Little East Blue, the next island is another of my originals. Wind's Home and the Crystal City went well enough that I'm going to do a few such, though not all in a row. Once we get through the plot of this next original island, we'll move on to a Time Skip island. Them, most likely, to another island from the filler content. Original Islands are only being used to pad out places for them to visit during the time skip, since I'm covering more of it. I hope to keep them all up to a similar quality as Wind's Home/Crystal City was, of which a lot of people commented that I'd managed an island that fit right in and felt like it belonged in One Piece :-).

Right! With those special notes out of the way...this new set of chapters is right around 9,400 words. Which, with the 5,800 from the set released on the 1st, brings the word count up above the 15k target for the month :-)! As usual, the new stuff is attached here in various formats, and I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post. I'll also put author's notes in the comments below when I have time. Enjoy the new chapters of Halfway Broken!

Chapter 91 A/N 1: The Dojo was only mildly changed, with some more direct connection to Kuina's family added. That this let me give her an upgrade item, of sorts, was the main point. A/N 2: The mansion was completely overhauled from the anime filler episode. Since I've built up Kaya's family background far more than canon, I was able to use that here to provide both a better reason for the mansion to exist and, again, provide Kaya with a place to pick up some new tricks from. A/N 3: The Mini-Baratie was the next most modified, after the Mansion. Frankly, the original bits in the filler made ZERO sense, as it implied far, far easier travel between the Grand Line and East Blue than is ever indicated as possible anywhere in One Piece. I altered it both to make a great deal more logical sense...and to give Sanji a start on building his own version of Attack Cuisine. I kinda feel it's a shame that Oda seemingly completely abandoned that angle for Sanji, with him only ever showing 2 of the 99 tricks Sanji learned and giving him a completely different ass-pull power up post-timeskip instead. In my version of the timeskip, Sanji will be visiting the Food Wars challenge semi-frequently, and I might even show a few of them, building up his skills. No, he was get the full Okama Recipe book. Instead, he'll end up with an eclectic mix of copied recipes and ones he figured out on his own. It's not like Oda actually told us much of anything about the Okama version anyway. A/N 4: Yay, Yamato got a first date! A/N 5: A bit of insight into Perona's thought process was due, I think.

Chapter 92 & 93 A/N 1: Drakestone! The second Original Island I've created! Hopefully it goes over well! The two images for the post go with the Frozen Library and what the cultists are trying to thaw out respectively...

Thanks for the chapter! Drakestone sounds great so far :) Also, hopefully Hina’s verbal tick can be cured sometime soon (probably by Kaya) since it’s become quite the problem 😅.

Cute date, also nice to see little East Blue being as good a nostalgia stop as I'd hoped it'd be. And Drakestone plot though...did not see a Vice Admiral coming so soon. Be a good growth measure though. Also PeronaxHinaxSanji is adorbs.

Mh good the hina/perona ship is sailing and the bdsm angle fits surprisingly well with them..... Using little east blue like this is inspired I would say and makes sense... The new island sounds fun..... And poor poor strawberry he has no clue what awaits him..... Also I can see a giant dragon being sheld by Dis being in our future....

Absolutely loving the Perona and Hena relationship. More of that please. Man, these admirals need to learn to just get out of the way and let Luffy do their jobs. Great chapters!

Well this is as good a reason as any for Hina's tic to finally be cured, or to start working on fixing it. I'm also guessing that a wounded Strawberry won't even be a challenge for the 4 strongest combatants of the crew, so maybe one of the next 4 (Nojiko, Nami, Hina, Sanji) will get a shot to show off. Tyftc Novus!

I have to admit, my shipping Sanji that was makes me cackle, while also preventing me from getting annoyed with him.

They do fit together quite well, something I'm happy worked out the way I was hoping. Strawberry is actually one of the more reasonable Vice Admirals, he's just stuck between duty and practicality at the moment.

Fair enough! My two cents: Since it was done by a devil fruit, another devil fruit has a good chance of reversing it. If it’s actually a mental block, then Chopper should be able to work on it with Hina instead. Although it seems like either options would take a while.

Strawberry isn't really wounded, six weeks is enough for him to be mostly back in top form, he's just a little sore still. Luffy or Yamato would likely trounce him, Kuina or Zoro might struggle a bit, though.

I'm really happy with the expansion of the backstories of Kuina and Kaya (and curious to see what they will gain), and I simply adore the Hina×Sanji×Perona ship that is building! The start of the second original island shows a lot of promise and I'm really curious of how it will go! Thanks for the amazing chapters!!

I'm glad you liked the expansions of backstories :-). Doing that sort of thing is often a bit of mixed bag when there is so little known about the characters in question. Thankfully, so far people seem to like the results.
