Hi all, introducing: [CGMZ] World Map!
Show a world map with icons and other markers on top. You can cause icons to appear over the world map when needed, and hide them when not needed. This allows a world map that can give the player location info for important quest objective locations and other info. You can also show the player's current location on the map.

MAP SCENE
Open a scene with a world map that can display icons and other important information in a way that can easily convey location-based info. Show where the player is on the map. Change what displays on the map over time as the story progresses.
MAP TRACKING
Where should the player icon be positioned while walking around the world map? Introducing the map tracking feature! Each world map parameter comes with the option to have a corresponding RPG Maker Map ID that will instead cause the player icon to be positioned by their x/y coordinates on the map.
So, for example, if the player is standing right in the middle of the world map in game, when they open the world map scene it will show their icon right in the middle of the map. You can also set bounds for the map, such as minimum X/Y and maximum X/Y in case your map includes details outside the playable area.
While not on the map in game, the player's icon will instead be positioned on the map scene by map data via note tag.
Of course, with a plugin that has so much potential, there are some really big features not yet in this version that have been planned as future updates. This (long) list includes:
Animated maps and animations above the map
Fog of war system to cover up undiscovered parts of the maps
Map legends
Placeable markers
Marker tooltips

This update focuses on improving map markers and the options you have to make them stand out. Previously, you were limited to a static icon. This has changed in the following ways:
Custom Images - You can now use a custom image instead of an icon. These can be any size, though you probably want to keep them smaller to fit well in the map. You can also give them a spritesheet animation image file, and make your custom image markers animated.
Marker Effects - Whether your marker is an image or an icon, you can apply some effects to it. You can make your marker blink which will cause it to toggle between visible and hidden. You can also apply a float effect for a marker, which can cause it to float up and down or left to right.
Below is a gif of how these improvements can look. The Roza image with the flashing exclamation point is an animated custom image as a marker, and the skull icon has had a float effect applied to it.
This version adds a coordinate system to the world map. You can have coordinates for both the player's location as well as the mouse cursor's location. This can be useful in cases you want to tell your player a general area to go without just giving them the exact location, allowing them to explore a bit more. You could tell them to go to some coordinate instead of the exact area. See the below gif for how it can look.
This update also fixes some bugs. The map should no longer be affected by tints applied via event command. Markers should now save properly.
This version adds map links. This allows you to link maps together, zooming out and in as needed. When viewing a map, if it has a zoom out map set, the player will be able to press the zoom out button to load the zoom out world map. When viewing a map, the player will also be able to position the cursor over a zoom in hit box and click to view that map. An example of this may be viewing a town map, then pressing the zoom out button to view the world map the town belongs to. From the world map, the player may then click back on the town to load back into the town map. See below gif for how it can look:
The player icon anchor is now toggleable between top left and center. This can help center the player icon more accurately when using live tracking, but may be more difficult to manually position the player icon when not using live tracking.
This update fixed a bug with player icon map tracking when the map bounds did not start at x or y = 0. This would be used if your map had dead space around the edges.
This version adds the much requested feature of [CGMZ] Fast Travel integration. You can now click on a town on your world map and give the player the option to fast travel there, if a fast travel point is set up and the player meets conditions to be able to fast travel there.
This works with all input types, including touch, gamepad, and keyboard.
In the case that both a zoom in map and a fast travel hitbox are in the same area, the player will be shown the option to either view the zoom in map or travel there.
