Hi all, [CGMZ] Recruitment Board is ready for initial Alpha launch!
This plugin adds a recruitment board, which is a shop-like interface for recruiting actors. The player will be able to see a brief overview in a list format of each actor including costs, basic stats, etc. Upon selecting the actor, they will then see the full actor information window which includes full stats, a full list of skills, and a full list of costs (set up via plugin parameter what is shown here and in what order).
If you do not want to use the full scene, you can also call the full actor information window directly to recruit only one actor. It may look something like this:
The actors that appear in the recruitment board can be controlled by using the Change Discovered and Change Availability plugin commands. These two properties determine who is in the scene when recruitment time occurs.
Want to see something else added that is not already present / listed above? Leave a comment down below or in the #suggestions channel of the Casper Gaming Discord!
This version adds more control over which actors appear in the recruitment board scene. You can now opt to include actors that have already been recruited are who are not currently available to recruit. The unavailable or already recruited actors will not be selectable by the player.
You can also optionally pass in actor ids which you want to appear in the list, so you can have different actors appear in different recruitment boards.
This update also overhauled how the info in the actor select window is drawn. You can now change the display order of the text in the window in a similar way to how you have control over text elsewhere, and you can also control if the New! marker text is drawn on the left or right. See below image for one customization of the select window:
Finally, an integration with [CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds was added. You can set a default scene background any time the scene is called, and you can also set unique scene backgrounds when calling the scene via plugin command.
This version adds some more integrations with other [CGMZ] plugins. You can easily add a controls window to the recruitment board scene via [CGMZ] Controls Window. This can be different for both the select part of the scene as well as the full info part of the scene.
All windows created by the plugin can now easily integrate with both [CGMZ] Window Settings and [CGMZ] Window Backgrounds. This will allow you to set the windowskin, tone, style, etc. for each window, or add a background image to your windows including scrolling parallax images.
A max party size check was also added, so you can now prevent the player from recruiting too many actors. If you only want a max party size of 4, but want to allow the player to choose from between 10 actors to recruit, you can now easily do that.
This version adds variable actors to the recruitment scene. Now when you call the recruit actor scene, you can also supply variable ids which will be checked and converted to actor ids to show in the scene. This can make it easier to re-use the plugin command but still showing different actors on the recruitment board in different times in your game. For example, if you wanted to show actor id 1 you could provide variable id 10 and then in variable id 10 store the value of 1.
This version also added custom space options for both the select window and full actor display window, so you can space lines out however you think looks best. A bug was fixed when the call scene plugin command was set to not show previously recruited actors.
This version adds a way to bypass costs when recruiting a single actor via the Call Actor Scene plugin command. This is how it used to work previously, but it was not very clear that costs were being skipped here. Now you can choose to either skip or not skip costs in the single actor recruitment scene.
This update also adds an integration with [CGMZ] Toast Manager. You can show toasts by preset id for when a new recruit is discovered, marked as available, and recruited. In all of these toasts, you can use %name to show the actor's name.
This version focuses on making recruitment board actors more unique. A lot of per-actor options were added. This includes per-actor toast presets, so when an actor is discovered, available, or recruited the toast message that displays can be unique.
You can now set a unique [CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds preset id to show in the Confirm Recruit scene, which is used if one is not already supplied in the Plugin Command.
Your actors can now have per-actor [CGMZ] Window Backgrounds and [CGMZ] Window Settings integration presets. This means you can do things like color code your window tones to be red for damage dealers, green for healers, and blue for tanks (for example). You could also differentiate your more rare actors from common actors.
There are also some new effects for when recruiting an actor is confirmed. You can now make the gamepad rumble via [CGMZ] Rumble, and you can also play a custom Sound Effect.
