Hi all, introducing [CGMZ] Clipboard!

This plugin allows you to read things from / write things to the player's clipboard, which could have many uses from more experimental game features to simple quality of life things like copying a url to the player's clipboard for them.

Write

This plugin allows you to write text to the player's clipboard. After writing to the player's clipboard, they can then paste that text anywhere else. For example, you could copy your game store page url and then the player could easily paste it into their web browser to visit your game's store page. Of course, you can use this for any number of creative game mechanics as well. For example, you might make a puzzle that can only be solved by pasting the hint into notepad so the player can read it.

Read

This plugin allows you to read text from the player's clipboard. It will store the result (if any) into a game variable which you can then use in your events or elsewhere throughout your game. You might find many uses for this, such as a puzzle that has to be solved by copying the answer outside of the game which the game can then read.

Roadmap

The clipboard is quite simple since it stores temporary data and reading/writing is mostly what is possible. However, depending on usage, I will try to make it easier to read/write data based on what your various games' want to read/write. Currently it is mostly text but it could be expanded based on what people end up using this plugin for. Please leave a comment if you want to use this for something but it is not currently easy to use it for your case and I can improve the workflow for your use case.

This version adds the ability to write images to the clipboard, which can be accessed by a plugin command to write any image you want to the player's clipboard. This can also be used in integrations with other [CGMZ] plugins, such as [CGMZ] Screenshots to automatically copy the screenshot to the player clipboard.
