Start a new game plus, resetting certain things like switches / variables. Track how many times a new game plus has been started.

! SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR UPDATES !

Hi all, today we have a new small plugin: [CGMZ] New Game Plus!

This plugin allows you to mark a save file as a New Game Plus. This will show up on the file select screen, with currently the default file select screen as well as [CGMZ] Save File's custom save file screen supported.

When a new game plus is started, the plugin will reset certain switches to false and certain variables to 0 set up via the plugin parameters. You can also choose which actors to reinitialize, which items/weapons/armors to remove from the inventory, if the party should be reset to the database default, and if actors should be recovered all.

You can start a new game plus as many times as you want. The plugin will keep track of how many times the player has started a new game plus, so you could event different things for different subsequent playthroughs.

If you have any suggestions for more improvements, please leave them in the comments below or in the #suggestions channel of the Casper Gaming Discord.

Happy RPG Making!

This update adds a new scene to the game, the New Game Plus scene. It is fairly simple, but allows you to have a custom scene where the player can choose to begin a new game plus or not. This comes with some standard options familiar to most [CGMZ] plugins including a background image, text options, window width, and a few more. Below is a gif of how it may look:

This update also added the option to call a common event on New Game Plus. This should allow you to event anything you'd like to happen when a new game plus is started.

This version adds some more customization options to the new game plus scene. You can now have lots of control over the background via a new integration with [CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds. The scene is quite simple, but you can also show a [CGMZ] Controls Window if you would like via an integration with that plugin as well. You can also set a custom image as a window background using [CGMZ] Window Backgrounds.

Options to change the new game plus window's windowskin, tone, padding, and back opacity have also been added.

The scene has also been simplified to only have one window with the static text above the selectable options within the same window, rather than showing two separate windows. Below is an image of how the scene can look now:

While most of this update focused on the NG+ scene, an integration with [CGMZ] Extra Stats was added to allow you to reset the statistics tracked by this plugin on new game plus.

This version added reset ranges for switches, variables, items, weapons, and armors. You can now set a start and stop value, and have every switch/item/etc set back to OFF or 0 in between those values. This should cut down a lot on setup time if you have a bunch of switches or other data that you want to reset on NG+.

This update also added the option to run custom js when new game plus occurs, which will allow you to code via js any changes you want to happen on NG+.

Some integrations with other [CGMZ] plugins were added, including the option to reset data from: [CGMZ] Professions, [CGMZ] Crafting, [CGMZ] Colosseum, and [CGMZ] Fast Travel.

This version adds a lot of new options for what can be reset automatically when a new game plus occurs. These were possible before, but only through eventing. Now they are simple on/off toggles in the parameters. You can now reset [CGMZ] Quest System quests, [CGMZ] Hidden Objects scenes, and [CGMZ] Treasure Maps data.

This version also adds an integration with [CGMZ] Window Settings for customizing the new game plus window's windowskin, tone, style, and more.

This version adds some more integrations with [CGMZ] plugins to allow you to automatically reset more [CGMZ] data when a new game starts. The plugins added in this release are [CGMZ] Reputations, [CGMZ] Jukebox, and [CGMZ] Message Log. Each plugin's data can be reset on new game plus, with a separate toggle for each plugin. If you want to keep message log data but reset reputation data, you can do that.

This version adds some more integrations with [CGMZ] plugins to allow you to automatically reset more [CGMZ] data when a new game starts.

The plugins added in this release are [CGMZ] Lore, [CGMZ] Cheat Codes, and [CGMZ] Manual. Each plugin's data can be reset on new game plus, with a separate toggle for each plugin.
