Allow your players to unlock pictures to view later in a gallery scene with this plugin. Optionally, allow them to download the pictures.

! SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR UPDATES !

Hi all, today we have a new standard sized plugin: [CGMZ] Picture Gallery!

This plugin creates a picture gallery scene for your game. You can have different categories of pictures, and the player can unlock pictures as they continue playing your game. Before being unlocked, the player will see undiscovered text for that picture. After being unlocked, you can show different text for that picture. You can also have completely hidden pictures which do not appear in the picture gallery scene at all.

Unlocked pictures can also be viewed as a full size image (currently drawn as an image in a window), and you can include text as well in case you want to add some kind of watermark to the full picture scene.

This plugin keeps track of your overall completion of the picture gallery as well as completion of each category. This plugin currently integrates with [CGMZ] Toast Manager to show a toast window when a picture is unlocked, though there are future integrations planned such as [CGMZ] Achievements for unlocking a certain percentage of the picture gallery or a category.

As this plugin is still in the Alpha stage, it is not yet feature complete. There are some planned features to be added in future updates, including:1) More viewing options for the full size image / full size window2) Option to call a common event to replay a scene

If you have any suggestions not already listed above, please let me know in the comments down below or in the Casper Gaming Discord's #suggestions channel! One area I am especially interested in feedback on is the viewing of the full size image, as most likely this will be changing quite significantly depending on your feedback.

Happy RPG Making!

This update adds the option to allow your player to download a picture. This will allow them to download the image with a default filename somewhere to their computer, and should work on any deployment target including web deploys. This update also added options to show marker text for categories or entries that are new. Categories with new pictures will display the marker text until that category has no new pictures. Individual pictures will display the marker text until they have been viewed. Below is a gif of how it may look:

Similar to my other plugins, you can now change each window's windowskin, padding, back opacity, and tone. These options should allow you to customize your picture gallery scene to look much more unique.

This version adds the ability to show the scene with only a single category, where it will start with the picture select flow and canceling out to where the category window would have been shown will instead exit the scene. This should allow you to event different picture galleries if you want to show certain pictures in certain areas of the game.

This version also added some control over how category images are drawn. By default, normal mode would center the image if not as wide as the area and shrink it if it was too large. There are now two new options: Fit and Portion. Fit will always stretch or shrink the image so it fits the area exactly. Portion is instead meant for large images that you want to cut out a portion of. You provide an additional X and Y value of where to start cutting the image and then a slice of the source image that fits the draw area will appear as the category image.

Some integrations were also added. The scene background image parameter has been converted to a [CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds integration, and this update also added a [CGMZ] Controls Window integration.

This version adds integrations with [CGMZ] Window Backgrounds and [CGMZ] Window Settings, which is how you can customize the picture gallery windows. Previously, a few limited customization options existed for things like windowskin changes but these integrating plugins handle all of that and more. Relying on integrations like this also helps me add more window customizations, since I only need to add it to one plugin and all 100+ CGMZ plugins get the new customizations automatically without needing to be updated individually.

I also updated the [CGMZ] Toast Manager integration to rely on toast manager presets for the discover toast. Along with this, you can now have unique discover toasts per-picture.

This version adds deep linking to your categories or pictures, which means you can now call the scene and have a category or picture already selected for the user. For example, you might use this to simulate your main character receiving a picture on their phone and opening right up to the picture they just received as part of an event in your game.

To go along with this deep linking feature, you can now call common events to allow your player to replace a cutscene from the picture gallery. If set up, the common event will override the full picture behavior, upon select the common event will play and no full picture will be shown. Deep linking allows you to re-enter the picture gallery scene exactly where the player left off after your cutscene is over.

I'm getting an error that says: CGMZ_Utils.setupToast is not a function is there a way to fix this?

Hi, yes you either need to update / install [CGMZ] Core, or place it above this plugin in the plugin manager.

Thank you so much for making this! It's exactly what I've been needing for ages! I have a couple of questions though... like, is it possible to call the scene for a specific category directly and bypass the category selection window? Also, is it possible to make it so the thumbnail images don't automatically stretch to fit? Thank you, you rock!
