I remember uploading an anime music video that had the dog scene from Ellen Lied spliced into it and it got flagged and when I appealed it I wrote "it's not sexual it's just violence for shock value" and YouTube restored my video. I'm not certain anyone was reading those text boxes in the first place

Regarding the comment about a person in the library quiet room. I can attest personally that I have been in multiple library quiet rooms and the people in there have no idea what shut the fuck up means. There will be four different signs saying no talking or cell phones. And several times in a row, somebody will be yacking on their cell phone, playing their crappy music on their tinny speakerphone, or holding a zoom meeting on their laptop. Anytime you ask them to be quiet, it's like a child throwing a tantrum. Anytime you ask a librarian to address the problem, they'll say something passive like, 'we're doing our best sir.' The social contract is hopelessly broken.

Québec doesn't follow normal Canadian law so if people do protest that law they might not actually be able to do shit about it since they can't appeal to the higher Canadian courts. Last time something like this happened Trudeau had to go on twitter and yell at them because he couldn't do anything about it
