I have diligently scrolled through the whole catalogue twice and somehow i haven't found it. 90% sure it was a TJ lead episode about random awful facts to ruin your day or something like that. The thing to me with Sinners is that they had a beginning and a middle but the third act is just garbage. It doesn’t make sense that the head vampire would’ve been fooled into going into the sun like that. It didn’t make sense for MBJ’s character (can’t remember if it was stack or smoke) to stay and wait for the KKK to show up again. Kinda seems like they just wanted one last action piece where they could sneak in some revenge against the whites catharsis while also killing off the character so they wouldn’t have to write a proper ending to his story. And then the son going back to the church didn’t make sense. At the beginning of the movie they make it seem like something crazy is about to go down in the church but then when we finally get back to that moment… nothing. I’m also just tired of “racism bad” “white people bad” movies in general. I’ll grant this movie that it did explore a cultural element of racism and assimilation that wasn’t present in a lot of existing media, but I don’t think that one theme is enough to make it an Oscar winner in my mind. Frankenstein would be a great pick both on the merits of the film and for marginalized communities because the two lead actors and the director are all immigrants. Much better pick in my opinion especially given the challenge of adapting Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. They were the first to achieve a successful film with that starting material. Bravo to them.

I have many pets and always have, it's never easy, especially ones that stay for so long and end up meaning so much to us. I hope Scotty is able to find comfort. Yujiro is in the big farm field in the sky, no more pain or aging, running with my Shakes, Boat Dock, Meathead, Buster, Moe, Beast and all the others!
