Metal and punk shows have had that very specific concert etiquette for decades they originated the whole mosh pit thing it’s a whole culture surrounding the music other genres appeal to a broader audience that never developed those rules the most violent and disorganized events I’ve been to have always been for every single other genre of music you can see a damn mainstream pop artist and there will a dozen drunk middle aged wasps beating each other. The metal concerts I’ve been to have always been pleasant and organized. It looks chaotic but everyone knows the rules and the rules are enforced by everyone including the band. Other shows don’t give a fuck
