Jim

You guys should cover the story of Sam Altman's house getting hit with a molotov cocktail.

Elizabeth Allen

We corrupted everything good and shit all over it. We didn't have a good run.

Elizabeth Allen

For every good thing we have done we have always found a way to twist that good into something dehumanizing and destructive. We had a horrible run and it won't end soon enough.

Hayden Cusick

Did we have a good run simple question cobra 427 and Shelby American in general. We had a good run.

Elizabeth Allen

We had a horrible run. If TJ can argue from his position of comfort then my position of discomfort is just as valid of an argument.

Elizabeth Allen

A majority of us did not have a good run.

Watermelon

Hearing TJ give a speech praising humanity feels like the twilight zone but i love it 😂

Watermelon

I’d argue that it is subjective. Some contribute great things more than the bad they produce. Others produce destruction much more than any good. Saying we all suck is just absurd considering how advanced our society is and how good we truly are at the end of the day at rising up above our destructive tendencies when the time comes to do so. We’re so powerful we can break the planet and then fix it all over again and i genuinely believe that. Maybe not at the point of absolute planetary obliteration but i think we can save it before it goes totally to shit. I also think the planet is a lot stronger than we give it credit for.

FulgrimFanboy

Wish I had a good run but it's been pretty dog shit. At least I found my obsession with Warhammer and especially Fulgrim before the end I guess

Watermelon

I give humanity some grace. We were born of this planet and have from birth all had to function by its natural laws which i’d argue have to a large degree mandatorily forced us to participate in activities for our own benefit at the behest of others. Even just to survive it is a law of reality that life must consume life to survive. That law alone proves to me that some of the folly of man isn’t even truly our fault at the root of it all. Systems of production, trade, etc must be made for human society to flourish. All flourishing beings become a parasite at a certain point just by again, law of reality. We have many of us taking that into consideration and doing their best to mitigate the damage caused by that as well as intentional harm. I think at the end of the day we as a species are trying our best in this world of imperfection.

Keifer

Bring orn the nukes.

Fromage

Scotty thinking the cgi visualization was real is my favorite moment

Keifer

I dated a bleached blonde hottie with a maga hat that listened to maga rap and yes, they unironically bobb to this crap.

Mr. Quacks

I want the 28 years later TJ!!! ZOMBIE JIGGLE!!!

Assmode

TL;DR: Compassion is a hideous curse that makes us aware of suffering in a way that makes us vulnerable to hucksters and still unable to remedy the situations. While I would never directly equate compassion with weakness, It seem pretty undeniable that compassion is most manipulable by those who have the least of it. Paul mentioned "fuck you, got mine" and unfortunately that seems to be the most successful mental model for the human organism, if success is measured by access to a wide array of resources, and if you get more than you need and a whole bunch of other people have less, you can get them tp provide something that you don't have, or make them do what you want, even kill. We are not a species driven by compassion, tragically I don't know a species that acts on pure compassion could survive in the insidious game of life where the objective is "propagate", to quote A long dead version of TJ; [we're not immune from the cruelty of nature (from without or within)] - "we're just the only species to recognize it for what they are, and lament their horrors."

DownrightSuperb

We can't forget that the US military uses an insane amount of oil and gas, driving up prices even more with their operations.

Cristian Puscas

so Paul basically said that to not be born and experience the good AND the bad is better than to not be born at all and experience NEITHER.

Jack Thompson

Paul demonstrating his inability to distinguish between trade-and-barter economics and capitalism was unexpected. C’mon Paul.

Garrett Bay

Boo hoo, what matters most is perspective. If you ask most people, as shown in the poll, we had a good run. If you look at it even from an objective standpoint, we are the most dominant species on the planet, without a doubt. There has been tragic damage done to the ecosystem for sure, but like TJ said it isn’t about the earth having a good run, but humanity.

Matt Matt

Why did Paul's colonoscopy prep take two days? I just had to do it the night before, it was my first one as well. And did Paul tell the dr. he smokes weed? I told them that and they gave me propapol, I laid down to wait for the doctor and then he showed up like "the procedure went very well, thank you!" I was like well damn, that was fun. So yes, if you are a smoker you shouldn't worry about anything, let them know and you aren't even going to know it happened.

Jack Thompson

You touch on an important point-the inherent laws of physics we as humans are predisposed to dictate our participation in behaviors that have negative consequences for nature and our subordinate species. With this in mind we should criticize humanity as a collective cautiously.

AnnoyingKiwiDude

disspointing i donated at 5:01:59 and they didn't read my message

AnhedonicHailMary

When did that happen during the episode? I think I missed it.

Fernando

Paul thinks Forgiato Blow is "brown"? Sad

Elizabeth Allen

TJ was just fucking with everyone. He literally agreed with the fact that we had a miserable empty run devoid of any meaning because we failed to see that we could create it ourselves.

Elizabeth Allen

TJ was being intentionally difficult and semantic. They essentially operate under the same principle of elite hierarchy.

Elizabeth Allen

The elite need to hurry up and go into their bunkers so we can lock them in. I'd say plug the vents to but that's to kind, they need to suffer.

Andrew Yoo

Creen los mestizos/cubanos son 'marron'. En america latina son 'blanco'. Pero in estado unidos solamente gueros son 'blanco'.

Fernando

Idk what being Cuban has to do with this. Kurt Jantz aka Forgiato Blows is a blue-eyed, white Floridian lol

Andrew Yoo

ohhh, no recuerdo. jajaja. Entonces son gueros. El Forgiato Blow es blanco en todo :P

Keifer

If the day comes that humans are somehow granted access to the galactic civilization, it won't be long til we turn the cosmos into a cesspool, so no, we did not have a good run and all the progress we've made cant wipe away the death, destruction and utter corruption we have wrought upon this planet, other lifeforms and ourselves. We are the devils the ancient scriptures speak of.

Will

Paul is the college lesbian of this show

Cameron

It’s not about the individuals, it’s about the species.

Cameron

How did he have a horrible run? Our species has taken over the planet. We are the most successful species on earth in the history of earth.

Cameron

The rest of the planet didn’t have a good run around us but we had the best run of any creature that has ever been.

Donkerly

It was at 2h47 and he was reading a comment

M

Quickly! Milk TJ. It is the only way!

Hatemile

So like, am I really gonna get banned on sight? Surely that's kayfabe? I wasn't trying to troll, I sincerely asked a big black lady managing a burger king if the whopper had actually changed and she said no, not my words, don't shoot the messenger.

DFFPodcast

You are good bruh. You are not banned!

DFFPodcast

I never thought it was real bro. Fake news from a fake patron!

AnnoyingKiwiDude

Can you mention my name next show?? hahahaha

brokeboy Oolong

The ending of TJs closing statements on humanity was so good it made my nuts tingle.

Patrick Pyke

Wtf was that tom McDonald song. Not a single line of the song fit with the beat well.

Lord of the Pimp Rings

TJ's lazy ass trying to pawn a whole segment off on Paul and Scotty and that segment ending up being totally bomb ass is such a uniquely DFF thing and why I love you guys so much. Can't wait to see you guys again at the next meet ups, I'm saving my off days just for you.

gotsniff

Great episode. Loved the old-school-pointless debate segment at the end. Paul gets so worked up and passionate that it really locks in the "brick wall" pointlessness of the discussion
