As a North Carolinian, I can't fully disagree with a D ranking, but let me give you some nuance about why I would maybe consider putting it in the lower end of C tier, maybe C- if it existed: 1) Place has shitty laws and elects republicans in large part because our elections are rigged. We are a state of a lot of descendants of freed slaves and a history of racists and plantation owners seizing power and fucking over black people and farmers. Long story short, after slavery ended there was a coalition of working class white people and recently freed slaves that made major fucking wins, putting people who used to be slaves in office and in police roles and shit until the racists literally violently couped the governor, killing a bunch of people, and suffered no consequences Since then, these ghouls have manipulated our state. The gerrymandering is insane. That's why it made it to the supreme court for being so racist. There are tons of black people here and on the whole they ain't republican. I believe we would be a solid blue state if it wasn't for this shit 2) Cost of living is pretty damn cheap here, even in our "cities", and a few of those have decent variety of stuff. The place I live in has a cool indie music kind of punky folk scene that's pretty queer. 3) There are tons of places you can go and buy dirt cheap land and not be around people if you drive out far enough. Our soil is great for growing crops if you into homesteading stuff and there are some beautiful places.

As a fellow Iowan, I respect your choice of putting Iowa in B tier. It’s an underrated paradise. Not perfect by all means, but Slipknot.

Michigan in D makes no sense at all. You can't give Iowa a B cuz if Slipknot then give Michigan a D when they have ICP, Eminem, Aretha Franklin, ect. I just feel like its cuz non yall been there. Detroit meetup when?

As an Oklahoman I would like to petition for you both to reconsider, we are not a D state. We are firmly an F state. We are literally a state full of people who are cucked to Texas, what could be a worse fate. The KKK still has a presence in this state as well, they would hold yearly rallies down here and no one would even come out to protest them. Terrible place, it’s no good. It’s basically Mississippi without that delicious southern food. I have to recommend you guys spend any amount of time down here in this dust bowl cicada ridden gnat infested Klan loving hellhole.
