What do I think about THAT? Well, lemme tell you what I think about THAT!

BruceyDaPug

Who doesn’t love a movie that takes on PG&E! Seriously as any Californian will tell you PG&E sucks and stand for pacific gas and extortion!

Chris Sliwinski

Both the covers of X and Pearl has an X. Maxxxine has 3 Xs and is the 3rd movie. That may have been the indication. Real subtle, kind of a stretch.

Thank You For Smoking is my favorite Aaron Eckhart 👌

Captain Howdy

Maxxine is the worst of the three but Pearl is legit great. X is okay.

Lord of the Pimp Rings

Legit. Pearl has a Carrie level crash out. I feel bad that Paul watched Maxxxine first.

Lord of the Pimp Rings

I actually watched the color version of Nightmare Alley first with the intent to watch the black and white one next. I look forward to seeing what you mean cause you're right about him basically being an unsympathetic sociopath.

Captain Howdy

Forreal the ending credits alone are worth the watch. THE CREDITS thats gotta be a first.

The video stops at 15 seconds in for me..... Not fair

Amenx Ra

It’s not a movie but a new show on HBO. But check out Half Man. It’s very good

X is the best of the trilogy. It has that cabin in the woods horror vibe going, Texas chainsaw was an inspiration for it iirc. Pearl is also interesting in a tangential way, but not essential. I'd recommend seeing X at least but it won't really add anything to your understanding of Maxxxine, but it's good on it's own account.

I think we need to see a “hey Paul watcha readin?” On sexbot uprising

Elizabeth Allen

I love the X trilogy. I will admit the 3rd one is the weakest of the bunch but watching them all together makes it better for me. Ok Maxxxine is a direct sequel to X and Pearl is a prequel to X. Pearl could stand on it's own and it's probably the best of the 3 especially since it contains one of Mias best performances.

Elizabeth Allen

If any of you are interested in the X trilogy after this see if you can guess who plays the old bitch in X.

Elizabeth Allen

On the power of Pearl alone I love the entire trilogy but you are correct when it comes to the order. Pearl is the best then X then Maxxxine in last but still a gem to me. Maybe not the shiniest gem but a gem nonetheless.

Elizabeth Allen

It's funny if you watched from best to worst you'd be watching in chronological order since Pearl is a prequel.

Elizabeth Allen

If you take anything from Maxxxine don't let it be that you shouldn't at least watch Pearl. X is technically a sequel to Pearl so you wouldn't really miss anything if you skipped it. I'd say give it a chance to but as you can tell I have a bit of a bias.

Elizabeth Allen

Really the X trilogy speaks to me on a personal level. I love the character of Maxine and the energy Mia brings to the roll so ultimately I understand if no one here is into it on the level I am. I can put myself in Maxines shoes and relate in some ways. Maxine is one of my spirit Animals.

Elizabeth Allen

I could discuss the deeper nuances and my personal interpretations of and possible interpretations of Maxxxine for hours. Specifically the ending of Maxxxine. I expected her to die or go to prison. I didn't expect her to get everything she ever wanted. It does come with a price though, by the end she's exactly where she wanted to be but she's still addicted to cocain all of her friends are dead and she's entering a world of hollow performative and fleeting connections.

Elizabeth Allen

If the Lighthouse hadn't been in black and white it would have felt like an entirely different film so I can see how this "Nightmare Alley" would take on a new tone and provide a different perspective in black and white as well. I'll have to watch it both ways.

Pearl>X>Maxxxine

Ill efterlad en kommentar. This will be based on my current view of the world. You keep referring to actors that have been commisioned to play other parts in other films, and I cant help myself not caring about any of it. Who gives a shit about some actor Ive never heard of and dont care to know exists playing some other role in a movie I couldnt care less about. Good that you care, have fun caring about nothing

I wanna see Paul tear the backrooms a new hole
