TJ introduced me to the biological limit of humanities empathy in one of his videos and since then from time to time it keeps popping up in my scatter brained philosophical musings. Recently I have been thinking of it in relation to climate change and the possibility of human stability. It just adds more weight to my theory that this grand Idea of potential we have as a species has always been a coping mechanism for a species that has the ability to think to much and therefore no ability to sustain the equilibrium of a species that is less mentally developed from our perspective of conscious thought.

This means even in the most extreme case of a totally homogeneous earth with a mono culture and a sense of one identity humans would fracture into tribal groups due to the human minds inability to empathize beyond 125 people. It would fracture and fight for dominance and one group would be considered better than the other regardless of a shared belief that the same racial and identity lineage makes them equal.

Even in the most ideal scenario of a global unity of equal rights for all groups it still runs into that tribal threshold and those barriers lead to corruption and fracture and humanity is still heading towards an inevitable unsustainability that will ultimately end in our extinction.

I don't really say this to shock or be depressing it's more to share an idea that for me feels liberating. There's no need to feel a dread for a specice whos potential is merely a perception used to cope with the ultimate reality of our inevitable trajectory.

I guess I’m confused, is what I learned.
