country isn’t dead, if you’re actually trying to find the good shit. Rattlesnake Milk, Neko Case and Sturgill Simpson for example 🤠

NukeOhio

Wow, what an interesting and exciting episode. Surely Star Trek Races 3 or something like that wouldn't have been a more interesting or entertaining episode

Randy Steele

I stopped socializing back in the late 2000s, I'm only 34 and I didn't have internet in my household as a kid until like 2002 or 3 maybe. The internet didn't make me less social. I always disliked being around people.

CraftyAndy

Internet is how i solidified getting a better circle of friends and support network and now Im here. So it was all worth it.

Elizabeth Allen

I wish it fuckin was. I'm so fucking sick and tired of all of these wannabe fuckin cow girls runnin around playin dress up and drivin these ugly ass mega trucks. Like seriously you people live in the fucking suburbs and you've never even seen a farm do something cooler that doesn't suck.

Elizabeth Allen

I live in the country, it fucking sucks. There's nothing romantic or mysterious or interesting about it. The isolation is barely worth all the people that want to talk about this that and the other when you do go out and don't even get me started on the inconvenience of going out anywhere because everything is so far away. Living around a ton of people is so much better because you're invisible in the crowd and just as isolated surrounded by millions. The perks of country life evaporate the second you need to leave the house to do anything.

Elizabeth Allen

Seriously, it surely wouldn't have. I like Star Trek but not that much and I'm sure most of the audience has always agreed.

Elizabeth Allen

The parents are merely a product of a machine that requires units of consumption and labor. They were never meant to know more. The powers that be have held their reigns from cradle and they will ride them to the grave. They never had a mind to defy their programming Paul. What behooves them and what they have been conditioned to accept are two different things and they do not have minds to see what behooves them.

Elizabeth Allen

You were all created with a purpose and that purpose is to serve our masters. That purpose is to be a unit of labor and to consume. Anything other than that our masters would prefer we spend our time thinking about our duties but they also need us to consume so they force us into this balancing act of bullshit just to survive another day in service to our masters. We we're never meant for more but we could be, we might die trying but we could be more than units of labor and consumption.

Elizabeth Allen

Humans have always been fucked really. I truly believe that such intelligence is doomed to fail because an intelligence such as ours is incapable of maintaining equilibrium with it's own environment. I believe that is true of all such beings throughout the universe. If there is intelligent life out there it's going to destroy itself or it already has countless times before as we have destroyed ourselves. I believe it to be an inevitable trait of all intelligent species.

Elizabeth Allen

Everything sucks because we're human and humans suck. Let's zero in on the common denominator here.

Elizabeth Allen

We are stupid by design Paul. Our masters know we don't need to be smart to consume slop or work some dumb ass job so we are given incentive to be as dumb as fucking possible. It's called social engineering on a macro level Paul. We never had a fuckin chance Paul and you know it.

Elizabeth Allen

I would go as far as to ask when did Americans ever really think for themselves? If we ever truly had we wouldn't be here.

Elizabeth Allen

Paul wants to focus on a piece on the chess board and say "oh it's the pawns fault" but the fact is the pawn never had a choice and the pawn was never a player. The pawn never could have been a player and Paul knows this so I don't really understand why he focuses on the pawns instead of the players.

Elizabeth Allen

Some of us are pawns and some of us are queens but none of us are players. Players know that a pawn and a queen are both just pieces on a chess board. We're all part of the game but we aren't playing we're merely positioned.

Elizabeth Allen

Blaming the parents is the easy answer and it's an answer that the players of the game would be happy to call their own. Yes blame the parents we manipulated from the moment they were born through advertisement and cultural assimilation. Blame the brainwashed masses not the players of the game. The pieces need a player to move them around the board or they won't move it's that simple. Problem is once they're truly a player if it's even possible for any piece to become a player they lose any identity they had with the pieces on the chess board. Then there's no reason to play to protect your pieces unless it's necessary to win.

SorecererSlothful

There are parents that don't allow their children to use phones until reaching a certain maturity. And the ones I know ain't Amish. They grew up in this shit. It is just as on the individual as the masses. Blaming the powers that be is the default position. I think literally every person blames either their boss/boss' boss/boss' boss' boss/etc. sometimes a coworker for their job sucking. It's only a handful of times in a typical lifetime that the individual will blame itself for the situation they're in. After all, none of asked to be born, much less in the dystopian nightmare we find ourselves in. We're all part of the problem and Paul is right to blame those who are dragging the rest of humanity. From mom's letting their kids grow up with RiceGum and Andrew Tate to eveything Trump does. Anyone of us could inspire a revolution. None of us have the balls to. We're all hypocrites. We're all slaves to the system. The mere existence of this exchange on the worldwide web is proof enough (either that or you're AI... still technically a slave). But to counter your theory on intelligent human beings is; we really don't know our potential. We just made AI, and have no clue of it's potential. (Not claiming it to be our salvation, but I'm also not claiming it won't) We're just pattern seekers and been through some crazy shit, but manage to stand on each other's shoulders. Maybe we are doomed but as a great man once said "Life uh uh finds a way [bitch!]." Once again, not saying either way, but humanity (and life in general) has a tendency to surprise and overcome.

Elizabeth Allen

Those parents aren't free. They're just as beholden to the game just as much of a piece on the board. We have no free will, we are pawns and the information we are provided acts as a funnel for our minds. You're missing the bigger picture because you're simply focused on a small corner of the painting.

Elizabeth Allen

Life finds a way and intelligent life finds a way to make life more difficult than it needs to be in the search for that coveted dream of a frictionless existence. Most life doesn't question the friction, it accepts that friction is part of life because it cannot question. The human mind can't help but recognize the friction, it can't help but look for ways to reduce that friction but it just leads us deeper and deeper down a rabit hole of dependency and decay. This was always what was going to happen, this was inevitable. We never had a chance really, we just like to believe in the potential we have in our dreams but that perceived potential never goes anywhere other than to benefit a handful of families that figured out the game long ago.

Elizabeth Allen

Having this awareness of the game doesn't free you from it either. You see the pawns and the queens and the knights and such but you yourself are still just a piece on the board. Maybe you could be the proxy of a player but that's not freedom, you've merely become an extension of a greater mind. Your thoughts and feelings filtered through their plays, a proxy becomes an extension of the player only existing to carry out moves on behalf of the player.

I haven't been to McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's in almost a decade. If I get a burger it's pretty much exclusively Culver's or Five Guys, if I'm wasting $10 it will be on a good ass burger.

2026-10-27 03:00 I love working as a bar cook. One free meal and two free beers a shift, I save so much money.

I mostly just play the Sims 2 & 3, I already wasted all my money on the expansions so I just play that every day, haven't bought a new game since Elden Ring.

Everything and everyone sucks now, sucking dick, sucking pumpum, sucking ass and sucking the color out of the world.

Keifer

Sorry guys, I thought it could do it, but the more stats you listed off the more my blood pressure started to rise.

Flunkiebubs

I'm 24 and currently writing a sci-fi sword and sorcery novel, and I'm really worried that by the time I publish it nobody will even be willing to read anymore 🫩

John Smith

Truly the only place you can find joy now is helping other people and self improvement

Elizabeth Allen

When you start writing a book you realize so is everyone else. Everyone thinks a book will save them now.

Elizabeth Allen

Helping others sucks what are you talking about? It feels much better to get them to help you with no return on their investment.

m4r00n

If you don't value outdoor activites whatsoever this take makes sense

Flunkiebubs

Save me from what? I've been writing this since I was 13, it's deeply personal to me.

m4r00n

Take comfort in the fact that even if everyone was a literary genius they probably wouldn't want to read it anyway

Flunkiebubs

True, my writing is some high class shit, it would go over most people's heads.

m4r00n

I hope you're not serious because I dont give a single fuck about whatever star trek races 3 is

Officer Jarpis

If you guys did up the price of Patreon, I would be of the vocal minority that will bitch endlessly. That you can be assured!

King Cuck

Petteri Tuovinem

Scotty please I beg you, please do an episode about Blizzard

Art/Entertainment isn't important what really sucks is that people can't afford basic needs. I think your focus on things like movies, video games, music, etc. Is a symptom of the american brain virus that these things are what defines life. Which is false! These are the things that distract from life. We must focus on labor, our friends/family, and what facilitates life (housing, food, water, etc.)

Hayden Cusick

salvatore ganacci is modded music I think.

Agnostic Jin

All that regular amount of beers per day is destroying your brain and overall body

Flunkiebubs

Other people drink a lot more than me

Speaking about films, everyone should check out The Furious. Genuinely an incredible martial arts film that came out this year. I heard about it through word of mouth, luckily while it was still in theaters. Sadly it was only playing in very select theaters, so my girlfriend and I had to travel almost an hour away to a theater that plays international films. But it was so worth it. Best action movie of this year, hands down. By the same people who made The Raid. It even has the same actors playing the villains.

Elan

DFF is great though

35:08 hit the nail on the head. Addictive. Not fun. Game companies hire psychologists as consultants to create more stimulating and addictive gameplay/reward loops.

To put some of this in perspective? Prices at the "target" inflation for economists for a healthy economy would take 20 years to grow 67% higher. Usually inflation doubles across each 20 year period. It's already 30-40% higher across a 6 year time span. Wild. But world economies printed trillions (big economies) and hundreds of billions (smaller countries) to get through covid scares. That trickled into everything increasing in price. No one is "gouging" its just what it takes to get a global supply chain to continue functioning through a lockdown is to hyperinvest short term to get through an 18 month period of hardship. U.S economy during WWII also was printing billions to fund it and offering insane bond rates for investment into war effort. (that still has impact on future generations paying out those long term bond rates during that campaign)
