Clayton Dunlop

It’ll be exciting to see what kinds of strange things doc oz has done.

J.R.Writings

Had no idea who it was going to be, now it seems so obvious!

Chelsea

Oh my god... People are really getting pussy lifts?

ScottS

Damn this guy's such a cock sucker

Jason Madrid

what I caught a show live XD you guys rock, DFF for life.

GC1931

Dr. Oz is the worst.

Jonathan Fesmire

I don't know if Patreon or you guys changed the page layout, but the show window is bigger. This is a nice improvement!

Jonathan Fesmire

Now we know what happens to kids named Mehmet.

Clyde Frog

Great show boys. Oz is a reprehensible scumfuck. PLEASE do a show about Oprah! Shit....what would the measurement be...I dont know, but I'm sure you guys would think of something great!

Michael Buonomo

Just wanna say you're on the right track for weight loss TJ. You combine that wile a few miles of walking and Timing your meals so that Your largest caloric intake is before you burn most of your calories for the day and the fat FLY'S off!

Elizabeth Ann Duffy

Fuck's sake... do you think people like this scumfuck believe they're really doing good? Are they self-deluded or does the money obliterate a conscience?

Jason

God I fucking love this podcast. It's one of the few things that bring me pleasure in life next to pizza, marijuana, and alcohol. Keep up the excellent work you magnificent bastards.

Keggerous

It doesn't even matter if he is a shill for this anti-science shit. The problem is that he calls himself a medical doctor but spreads bullshit pseudo-science as real cures for issues people have been suffering from. This is just disgusting and should be well enough to get him removed from television.

Helly Selznick

My wife may hate TJ's devil's advocate stance (especially on the Elder Scrolls episode, which is the worst one btw, but I still love), but even she can't deny the obvious longitude this podcast has potential for.

Holly Crane

I honestly don't think Oz has even one redeeming quality.

Luka Hays

DFF = Sylvia Browne

TheMedsPeds

When they are talking about weight. If you go back and look at TJ's old videos. He does look like he lost a decent bit of weight and kept it off the past year or so.

Black Prince of Wands

The first time I heard about this cocksucker was at work when a middle-aged (probably single) woman needed help finding ingredients for some homemade remedies. She mentioned she got the idea from Oz and made it clear that she liked him, defensively as if someone else already told her that he was bullshit. Great first impression.

Canadian Attack Moose

My dad’s wife watches Dr. Oz and believes every word spoonfed to her, which is fitting because she’s got the mental ability of someone with brain death. Once told me to lose any weight you had to jog eight hours a day. I get my kicks listening to her supposed wisdom.

H Lee

Love this snake oil series :) wouldn't mind seeing you guys keeping it going. Maybe Oprah is next!!

Yeah sounds pretty crazy. Most people don't have time to jog 8 hours a day. Plus that's just bullshit you can lose weight with just a decent diet.

Adam St. Martin

I mean seriously Oz wtf are you gonna recommend next, mf eye of newt and unicorn horn?

wykd

Yessssh do Oprah 0w0

A number of alternative medical treatments have been established through clinical studies to impart significant therapeutic benefit beyond what can be ascribed to placebo effect, for example meditation and even acupuncture. It's not difficult to find research to this effect. At the same time, plenty of established procedures, like knee arthroscopy, have been used even after new clinical studies contra-indicated their effectiveness. The problem with your reflexive denial of alternative medicine and acceptance of conventional medicine is that there are other considerations than simply effectiveness that play into what treatments are assimilated into the canon of conventional western medicine, like financial conflicts of interest, lack of interest in investing in certain research, even preconceived and unproven ideas on the part of experts.

They acknowledged the medical benefits of actual snake oil. It's not a reflexive denial of "alternative medicine" (nonwestern medicine) as a whole. It's a reflexive denial of garbage. If you can actually prove the effectiveness of the stuff Dr. Oz shilled, do that. Generalizing, shifting the goalpost, doesn't help.

I knew I was looking at a gigantic load of bullshit as soon as I finished reading your first sentence.

Dungeons and Deadlifts
>>15292498

Correct me if I'm wrong, but treatments like meditation and acupuncture are very short lived, I believe. Like you'll feel better for like 30 minutes and then the pain comes back.

actually, john, no, while a few old studies found that acupucture could have some effects stronger than placebo, flaws have been found in those studies (basically, the placebo they used for comparison wasn't appropriate, so the patients knew that they were getting one) and when it was repeated with a better, more appropriate placebo, acupuncture performed the same as the placebo. (I think the original study used sugar pills while the newer one used trick acupuncture needles that didn't penetrate the skin). as for meditation, it has medical benefits, but they are pretty much equivilent to simple relaxation, not something special about meditation.
