I mean, one thing among the many shit things about this movie. They could have saved the reveal that Myers wasn't decapitated until the end, have Laurie watching and complaining that it's so disrespectful to pretend, slowly realise it's real and have a breakdown when she realises she must have killed someone innocent right at the end. Wouldn't have saved the rest of the trash fire but you know, basic storytelling stuff...

It's an awful movie, but they said in the movie that the 'he was abused' angle was fake and all the toys and drawings were fake so I can't really see it as a critiscm. I don't know why I'm defending Halloween 8 though so nevermind.

Paul, might not be quite a palate cleanser horror movie, but if you want something surreal and a bit twisted you should try and find 'In Fabric'. It's a European anthology style film about a cursed dress, and how it destroys the people who own it. Featuring creepy loligoth shop keepers, people wanking off a menstruating a shop mannequin, and washing machine repair based erotic hypnotism.

I can save this movie with one scene. At the end, the main bitch goes home only to find Myers waiting for her. He peels off his own face to reveal Freddy Krueger who puts the main bitch in a choke hold before turning to the camera and delivering the last line of the film. "You get what you pay for, bitch!" Then the bitch screams and the movie cuts to black, implying that she died in her dream. The entire movie would just be one extended Freddy kill. It would still be a joke but at least it would be a little bit funny. That's the best anyone can do with this mass of cinematic sludge.

I would like to see you’re commentary over good films, too. Take the original Halloween for example. Its a great movie and its pretty psychologically scary, but the film is still plagued with problems, convenient plot devices, details change depending on the needs of the scene. At least in the Friday the 13th remake, it made a little sense that Jason had a system of tunnels. He built that shack himself, and it was just simple dirt passageways held up by wood, not some Roman aqueduct brick masterpiece.
