Revised Abandon Hope Suggestion Thread - READ EVERY FUCKING WORD (Patreon)

Hey Pessimists, TJ here. 

So, I’m trying to put together Abandon Hope for tonight, but I’m having trouble populating it with things to react to. I’ve gone through the previous suggestion thread and I honestly didn’t find even one thing that interested me there. So I’m making this post to lay out some very specific criteria in the hopes that you can better help me get this show together.

An important thing I want you all to make note of is that I do not just try to put all the work onto you guys to find stories for AH. I always do my own due diligence to find as many stories as possible for the program. But ultimately, I know that 5,500 heads are better than one—even if that one is me. So please don’t think that I’m trying to put all my work off onto you. I’m simply asking for help, as well as trying to give you guys creative input on what ends up being made. 

So, here are the criteria. 

1. When you post your link, please include a brief description what it is and why you think it deserves AH coverage. Links that are posted without a description will not be considered. 

2. Video content is preferred, but articles, blog posts, memes, etc. will all be considered.

3. If the video in question is longer than 15 minutes, please provide timestamps to the relevant bits that you want to see responded to. 

4. Even if the video is under 15 minutes, you may still want to provide timestamps if only part of it is interesting. 

5. Do not attempt to get my opinion on YouTube (or other) drama. I have absolutely zero interest in such content. I am here to discuss ideas, not people. The only time a personality is worthy of attention is if they are in a position of true power and influence.

6. The links you send in should generally contribute in some way to the hopelessness of the human condition. Hence, “Abandon Hope.” Positive or uplifting stories need not apply. 

7. My favorite thing to do is deconstruct the arguments made by others. So any content that allows me this opportunity is usually what I will favor over things that simply elicit banal emotional reactions.
