OOOOOHHHHH!!!!!! I'm fucking watching it tonight soon as it's released on HBO. I'll watch it in theatres with my friends in the following week to get the true experience but goddamn I can't wait. I'll suffice with my shitty 6in phone screen lmao At least I got a dope quality bluetooth so I can have epic sound for it. Won't miss out on that. I bought the whole Dune series and been(trying to) read through them before the film but, as Paul has said, it's not an easy read. I only got through the first book half way lol. But it's worth it just to have them for the long run in reading them. I'd definitely recommend the books but I'd make sure you have time set aside to dedicate to it.

Akephalos

Great today great yesterday Can't wait for all of them

Simon

It was really fucking great in IMAX

Matt Plog

Only 30 min in and I'm STOKED!

Douglas Hesketh

All I would suggest is getting on board with Nolanesque BWOOOOOOONG noise cos the movie will give you no peace from them.

Gabriel Bernson

It's easily one of the most faithful adaptions I've ever seen, and as to be expected it was shot and directed beautifully. The things that were changed/removed were fairly insignificant in terms of the grand plot (like references to the Orange Catholic Bible or the Butlerian Jihad, or changing Liet Kynes into a woman). Can't wait to hear your guys thought because I was enchanted. They better get to greenlighting part 2.

Nick

Movie gave me massive blue balls. I think i overwhelmed myself with hype leading up to the release of this film, because i left the theater feeling kinda empty. However it hasnt left my mind yet, the imagery is mesmerizing and the score is bombastic. I can’t wait to watch it again after i have had some time to think about it.

Rav

The hype is real!!!

Watermelon

Not enough Thuffir or discussion of mentats in general. The Baron needed more dialogue, I think Skarsgard was underused. Other than that it was great. I will see it on the big screen at least one more time.

Joshua Thieman

I was really stoned when I watch it so others' mileage my vary but I thought it was great. A lot of underused characters but it's a multi part series so maybe in the next one? I'd give it a solid 8.8/10. Good visuals, acting and a pretty effective musical score make this is best film version of Dune thus far.

They showed the blood letting ceremony in that one scene where the Harkonen's We're preparing for battle the bodies upside down on a pyramid being drained but they only showed it for like a second. I was too really disappointed that they didn't even show the extent of the Harkonen's evil like why not make the movie 3 hours it deserved to be...

sorry for being an "actually" guy, but a small correction: that was on salusa secundus, the prison homeworld of the Sardukar, not the harkonnens. even though they where allies, they are not the same people

Raytan

I have to ask if Paul has been made aware that Bad Dragon has come out with a sandworm sextoy named "Ledo" , and yes that fact has had me laughing for the last 5 minuets.

This is my first introduction into dune and I think this should have been a show or the first half of the movie should have been twice as long, and that should have been the movie.

balthazaar of clythestown

Dune was such an amazing movie. Very satisfying for a fan. Ice read through the books twice and listened to them all twice more. This movie was faithful as fuck man

Sam Charles

I hate that TJ turned out to be right in his assessment of Halloween Kills being a surprisingly solid film. It had clever social/political commentary, comedic or otherwise memorable kills, and it demonstrated a healthy level of self-awareness. I also didn't expect it to have a message in line with Dune, regarding fear.
