Wow! I have 28 years working in news media under my belt and know a brainwashed person when I hear them talk. That guy is unapologetically brainwashed.

RushXAnthem TCG

Vaush strawmaned and ad hom'd his way through this discussion. If his point was to come off as a completely unlikeable, arrogant, and out of touch neo lib then he succeeded. As a social worker who works with the poorest members of our society, hearing someone say "just manage your finances better" and then claim to be a socialist makes me want to build a guillotine. Vaush is not a socialist he is the bourgeoisie.

I'm a fan of both DFF and Vaush. Been listening to both for a long time. But I'm extremely disappointed by DFF's position. It's childish, it's self-centered, it's impractical, and it would not only not lead to progress, it would actively lead to regression. I know TJ and Paul and Scotty are all smart guys. But whether it be their ego, their emotions, or their stubbbornness, their unwilligness to understand the importance of what Vaush is saying is beyond disappointing. "It's not Joe Manchin's fault for gutting that bill, it's Biden's for not breaking his legs mafia style!" "I wanna eliminate the duopoly! But I want to do it by employing the same method that has failed over and over again for decades to do it and I want it done right now and if it isn't done I shall not sully my holy vote with Biden's name!" I love you guys but this is fucking pathetic.

They say that they are entitled for the vote but they are entitled to their vote. The biggest thing I can say is build our own movement and ignore the party lines as they will betray us over and over regardless of what we do. The democrats are loyal to their corporate owners and nothing you say or do will change that. One last thing is that you guys act that the politicians are entitled to the vote but ignore that the vote belongs to the person to do with what they wish. If you disagree upon responsibility then that means you are not supporting democracy but group think politics.

I disagree that I or Vaush said democrats are entitled to votes. The point being made is that leftists withholding their votes from democrats in elections has no impact on moving the democrats leftward or giving power to a progressive third party.. It only empowers the republicans and the right wing movement. And while I agree that the dnc is corrupt in terms of corporate influence, I think the republican party is not only even moreso, but the republican party does much more in terms of political action than democrats do to serve corporations. Whereas democratic politicians sometimes (but not enough) do things that help workers and hurt corporations, republicans *never* do things to those effects.

I responded to you but I accidentally did it by responding to my original post 🤦‍♂️

What makes you think so? I think I agree, but I'm curious!

Lesser of two evilism is what has gotten us into this mess. It's been the lesser of two evils since the party switch and things have steadily gotten worse because of the ratchet effect. Vaush never even acknowledged that fact other than by saying things have gotten better lul. Things have not gotten better. Things are worse now than they have been in 70+ years. Vaush handwaving that away as "the government can't do anything about the economy" is the stupidest shit I've ever heard. Did he forget about the new deal? The other thing he said was "the democrats have to appeal to the average American because leftists are hard to appeal to." of that was true then the dems would actually make meaningful strides on education, healthcare, and the economy because the "leftist" talking points are actually supported by the majority of Americans, and yes that includes some Republicans even. If the dems would get of their asses and do something then id vote for them.

>>122253571

Vaush never said the gov can't do anything about the economy. He said there was more at play in the economy than *just* what the gov can control. And no, things are not "worse than they've been in 70+ years" that is completely ridiculous. Some things might be, sure. But the overall state of things? I disagree. Lesser of two evils is not what got us to where we are either. I won't claim that that mindset has played *no* role, but there are many other things which have played a much larger role. And if abstaining from voting worked to push the party more left, we wouldn't have Joe Biden. Because that exact strategy was tried with Hillary Clinton, she lost, Trump made the country much worse, and then Biden won. The party wasn't pushed left by Hillary-abstainers at all. And I was fucking one of them because I used to think this way as well. It. Does. Not. Work.

WOLF STAR

The problem I have with Paul and TJ is that they brought up better arguments post-debate than during the debate.

Yeah bro you hit the nail on the head good shit you're so much more aware than these sheep bro hell yeah 💪

Armando

I think Vaush had you guys beat, paul interrupted a shit ton and it was kinda rude and didn’t make him sound great. I may vote bIdEn now, idk tho. Regardless, I respect the balls paul had to really voice his opinions. Good job on this onion nuggets, hope we can find the answer to what we really need to do someday

A strange way to look at it. I didn't come into the discussion looking to beat Vaush. I was glad aside from a few ad hominem to hear his perspective. I don't feel that anyone walked away suddenly convinced of the other position. You guys found it entertaining which is the point of any show.

Armando
>>122288517

I get that you didn’t come into the discussion to turn it into a competition, but you both did have two opposing views, and argued why one’s solution was better than the other’s, which I feel like is an attempt to at least sway each other’s or the audiences view. I think vaush had a better argument on voting bIdEn because I don’t see how the democrat party would then listen to leftist after a bIdEn loss. I actually think the D-Party would try to swing more right in an effort to get moderates. On top of not getting the results we would want from not voting blue, we would also endure another Trump presidency. On the other hand, another bIdEn presidency would allow us to keep working towards more progressive policies on a small government(state and city) scale without the risk of any Trump shenanigans making progress impossible. I hope that clears up whatever strange way I phrased something. With all that being said, I still don’t know if I will vote bIdEn since I think another one of his shit terms is still gonna lead to a republican win in 2028 anyway so it won’t even matter. You guys did kill it on the entertainment aspect.

You like anyone else should do what they believe is right. I have no problem with voting and I understand the reasons why many people feel it is the correct course of action. I think my concern is more that despite the heated moments I do not view the discussion as some sort of adversarial competition but rather an exchange of ideas. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

We're done talking with Vaush and mostly done talking about Vaush after 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Brandon Erickson

How fucking dare Vaush say Paul didn't 'save enough'. What a silver spoon little bitch

Andrew J Winzer

Holy fucking shit this vaush guy is dense

Andrew J Winzer

I'm no fucking master of argumentation but this guy seems really week why is he popular

Kyber

Vaush is literally calling his own party and country evil by justifying the "lesser of two evils".

Brent Aultman

Vaush also thinks age of consent laws are bullshit. Makes sense hes a Democrat supporter

Gary Czernick

Automate them and kick humans out of power entirely, globally.

Anonymous

Vaush’s entire argument allows the Democrats to kick the can down the road for eternity while life continues to worsen for the average person.

hookshot245
>>122322890

Saying the age of consent laws are somewhat arbitrary but necessary is not the same thing as saying they are bullshit. It's been forever since I listened to him with any regularity, but if I remember correctly he actually argued the age of consent should be higher than it is before.

DB

I think Vaush came across as a tool and faux intellectual, he is part of the problem.

Joel Phillips

I used to watch vaush, but honestly the fact that so many people put so much emphasis on getting dems into power then go to sleep once they are is the real problem. Sure voting is easy, but the actual activism is way more important then just getting dems into power

DemolitionRig

I'm like 36 minutes in and this is so great and I saw a clip of Paul yelling and Vaush and yesssss ma'ammmmmm

DemolitionRig

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen and it was better than I ever thought possible

Dick McPenis

Summary of the entire discussion I’ve heard so far. Paul: “I don’t want to take it up the ass from my government anymore!” Vaush: “lol too bad m80.”

Dick McPenis

I agree with Paul on the trans kid Oklahoma story. With no LGBT theatre students, there is no theatre! We should know this!

Allison

I had never watched Vaush before, but I expected more from someone so popular? Im confused by how little he tried to understand
