Squirrel Power Trailer Progress Update 2-23-24 (Patreon)
Content
So I recently finally finished what is most likely going to be the hardest shot in the entire trailer, where Ashley stumbles around a crowd of her fans as they desperately pine for her attention.
What's funny is that the hardest part wasn't animating the crowd, it was a simple matter of making mostly still figures blink slightly, plus a bit of clever copy-paste work. What was hard was animating the continuous movement of Ashley, which you will be able to see in all its glory if you're subscribed to the $10 tier or above, which grants you access to works-in-progress and behind-the-scenes content, including the original Blender source files!
As for the release date of the trailer, I'm going to move it from late February to...just anytime between March and April. And what the hey, how about May? (haha rhyme)
But in all seriousness, there's a lot of safety in the phrase "coming soon", and I intend to take advantage of that. In general, however, I'm going with April at the latest. I'm confident I will have a quality showcase of what Squirrel Power has to offer by then, but until that point there are a lot of twists and turns involved in the process of deciding what scenes to animate, what the characters will say, music and editing choices, and how long each scene should be. In essence, I have to decide how hard I want to go. Really hard, or really REALLY hard?.....
Well, not that hard. I value my work-life balance, after all :3
But rest assured that the delay is small in the grand scheme of things, and the trailer will almost certainly be out in the relatively near future. I've made too many promises already, and at this point I can't afford not to keep them. In the meantime, I will upload the mother of all trailer shots, pictured above, on Patreon, for anyone who wants to or is currently subscribed to the $10 tier or above.
Thank you very much for all your support <3
