The rain hasn't stopped since we got back. Neither of us bothered turning on the overhead light — just this one lamp, throwing everything gold on one side and blue-black on the other. Feels safer that way, somehow. Like the dark can keep a secret better than the light ever could.

Aki hasn't said much tonight. He never does. But he's sitting closer than usual, sleeves pushed up, tie hanging loose like he gave up pretending to care about looking put-together. I keep stealing glances at him between the raindrops on the glass, and every time he catches me, neither of us looks away first anymore.

We both know what this is. We both know what happens if anyone finds out. But right now, in this apartment nobody else knows the address to, none of that matters. Just him, me, the lamp burning low, and the city outside pretending it doesn't see us.

秋今晚話不多,他一直都是這樣。但他坐得比平常更近,袖子隨意挽起,領帶鬆垮地掛著,像是放棄假裝自己還在乎體面。我趁著雨滴打在玻璃上的空檔偷看他好幾次,而每次被他抓包,我們誰都不再先移開視線了。

我們都清楚這是什麼關係,也都清楚要是被誰發現會怎樣。但此刻,在這間沒人知道地址的公寓裡,那些都不重要了。只有他、我、快燒盡的檯燈,還有外面那座假裝沒看見我們的城市。
