Oh! I was thinking of starting this too since I heard Chika used to be in the X-Galaxy project (at least in the early stages? her photo and name was in the XG documentary). This is a nice surprise 'cause now I can watch it along with you. :D

I just finished watching and I agree that most of them very much feel like uncut gemstones. And it's really no coincidence that most of those who sounded great or had good stage presence from the start have already been trainees (Chika with Avex/XGALX classes and Naoko with Avex as well) or had been in shows/auditions before. Sky-hi is actually a part of a coed JPop group under Avex called AAA before prior to heading BMSG, so he definitely knows a thing or two about being in a group. Loved Chanmina's energy here too. I don't know much of their songs, but I liked how it felt like they're both appreciative of whatever the auditionees are trying to bring into the table despite the obvious nerves showing for most of them.

I really hope when you decide to check out Chanmina, you do it on reactions because I’ve always wanted to request her but haven’t been able to come in time when a request slot opens up 😭 some of the songs they used for their auditions are my personal favorites of hers, like Bijin, dahlia, and Harenchi. I really think you’d enjoy them all! (Although dahlia doesn’t have a music video as far as I know) but Chanmina herself is such a great person and artist!

I didn't catch that you had started this until today, and it pulled me back in for a sub - it's my my second favorite survival show to date after The Nizi Project. As I said in my review of it on MyDramaList, "Here's an idea: let's take all the budget for a girl-group survival show and allocate as much of that budget as we can on the finale and hold that finale in a packed 20,000-seat arena." And so it feels low budget until you hit that Ep. 15, and then, OMG. This first episode does make me laugh. So the only real question here is: who is going to be in the final group with Chika?
